I honestly couldn't give a shit about Episode 1, Epsisode 2, or believe it or not HL2 itself.

I don't own a PC to play single player games, I do that on the PSP/PS2.

Still haven't bothered playing past Ravenholm in HL2 as I'm just not bothered

Fair enough. Come to think of it, I very rarely play single player games myself now.

you forgot portal.

I generally don't like single player games on the PC either. I gave up half way through CoD2 (though to be fair that was due to losing the saves because of a crash), Fear, Quake 4, Doom 3, etc. I don't seem to have the conviction to finish them. Except for HL, I enjoy playing through the Half Life series :)

I live for singleplayer - Multiplayer comes second only to storyline.

All depends on the game for me.

but in the case of the half-life series, I know as soon as it's released, I'll sit down and play until it's complete.

As far as portal goes, that's probably the bit I'm most interested in, silly logic puzzles FTW.

PC Zone revealed there will be lots of little easter eggs in portal, such as opening up a portal into the builder's room to the side of the research labs, and finding their discarded coffee cups, building tools and ladders.

I'll admit since I've playing more and more multiplayer games solo ones seem a bit flat and lonely, even the new Zelda isn't holding my attention like the previous ones. But I still love a decent FPS on the PC.

That doesn't exactly get me orgasmic, but i'm still with you on the storyline thing and half life games have never really had that in my opinion. Great shooting games sure, but the only character that i have never wanted to blow up with a nade for being retarded was dog the robot. Actually thinking about it, he didn't speak. Figures.

Timesplitters: Future perfect is a great example for the storyline though, nothing epic but it had some amazing gags in there. I lol'ed hard

Single player games don't give me the rage... as much, and sometimes relying on other people to have fun doesn't always work out.

Besides, the quality of games like HL2 and Oblivion will have me playing SP games on the PC for a long time to come.

I've played through HL2 and EP1 twice each, I havn't even finished COD2 and FEAR once, standard SP FPS games are abundant and boring, an exceptional SP FPS game is a very rare thing indeed.

I'm still trying to get to the end of CoD2, I keep getting sensory overload from the constant weapon fire and have to turn it off.

Once I got the hang of the slow-mo stuff in FEAR I really enjoyed it.

I enjoy it for about 30 minutes at a time before the repetitive environment becomes quite dull

I don't know if I'm becoming less and less patient, or more fickle, but it's rare to find a game I get excited about, or play for very long once I have it. To have three in one package is unprecedented.

Ep 2 looks to be an enjoyable few hours finding out a bit more of the story and seeing a few new things.

TF2 is kind of riding on the nostalgia factor of TFC (which wasn't that successful recently here) so I don't know how long that will last - from the looks of the trailers it seems they're keeping the skillz aspects - so it mightn't be long before random online games are dominated by rocket/'nade-jumping masters.

Portal, though - that's the real interest for me. Simple-looking game, but with an almost limitless number of ways to go about solving the problems. The bit on the demo where they created a portal loop to accelerate, then moved the out-portal to be ejected at high speed out of it was great, and the poor little sentry gun popping up and falling back down the portal was good, too.

Yeah, with Half-Life 2, I've really gotten sucked into the entire story arc going back to HL1. I'll pretty much buy every Half-Life game that will be made if only to find out how the plot unfolds.
