From the pictures on the website it looks like the "bad guys" have more fun, I'd be on their side. Although if they're so bad why don't they have better weapons for oppressing the drably dressed "good guys"?

um...so ignoring the bit in the new testement where some guy comes along and says "ignore all that, here some new rules". I belive he was called Jesus, he *may* have had some import in the Christian faith.
Precedent was a bad word, i meant a bad idea, i.e. todays gaming public wont enjoy it.

Although we're talking about a game here, not a philosophy for life. Lets think of some non violent games, Disney certainly did quite a few, but all were aimed at kids. I cant see an adult gamer giving this much time, i think it's a fair point.
Actually, I dont think its the religious aspect of the game that'll be its biggest problem. I think the fact that its main concept sounds both dull and irritating will be the main problem. It could be a Satanist based game, it would change the fact that sneaking and escorting at the same time probably aint going to work as a game.

well, no, thats not strictly true. There are an equal number of statements across the bible that have different positions on the issue. Jesus did mention ignoring OT law but there are an equal number of quotes that say the law is unbreakable and valid forever aswell as many passages from the new testament that talk of keeping OT law.

We know the bible has many many contradictions and this is part of why you cant generalize Christians, because they don't all believe in the same thing.

As for the game, nothing on the internet can stay uncorrupted for long.

Actually dude, it is strictly true. There are, like you said, many references in the OT to the law being unbreakable and valid forever, etc etc. However, the whole point of Christianity is that anything that was said before was being over-ruled by what Jesus said. The only reason they are kept in the bible is more for historical reference and a sense of background to the religion. The NT is quite clear on issues such as violence and suchlike: ie, they are bad. Theres certainly inconsistencies, but none of them (in the NT at least) are saying that Jesus was wrong. There is stuff in the NT that verifies some OT laws, but that is because Jesus didn't poo-poo the whole thing, just select bits of it (mainly the bits about killing infidels and the like).

Im not denying that there are people who say that the OT law is right, and the NT stuff is rubbish. Its just that they are commonly referred to as "Jews".

Im also not denying that there are people who are Christians but also still believe in eye for an eye and all that. They are, however, a minority. One that is commonly referred to as "idiots"

Christian scientists on the other hand...

I was quoting Richard Dawkins for something he potentially had evidence for, therefore i can generalise in this case

I'm not sure, actually I'm certain that many of the people of whom you speak would be outraged at you calling them Jews. There are a lot more OT Christians out there than you think, in various forms they may up a big percentage of the Christian community in America.

None of us have statistical evidence on the matter so theres no point arguing about it. end of story

Not to let the thread tangent too much from the topic, does the game have robots?

ok, now you are just talking out of your arse. You do realise, I presume, where the name "Christianity" comes from? If you dont have the NT, you dont have Christ. Kinda hard to be a christian without Christ.

No, I dont have any statistics on how many christians ignore the NT. I dont have any statistics on how many Muslims dont use the Koran either. Some things don't need statistics. I have however studied religions at A level, so yes, I do know what im talking about. You clearly are making it up as you go along. That is the end of the story.

And this ladies and gentlemen, is why I refer you to my original statement last time we discussed religion

My GCSE religious education consisted of dossing around for 40 mins because not a single person in the class was interested in anything the teacher had to say about religion.

Here have a religious kitten to make this thread more fluffy, and hopefully less trying to prove a point, or get one up on the other person :bored:
