I'll assume you're all turning up later than Deject, who will have been soaking up the ambiance for a good half an hour before you arrive.

Deej; A few people come and go from the bar, but only one female business type who arrives about 15 mins before the squad do. She gets a small soft drink from the bar and wanders around the place looking around, eyeing people up. Then she goes and sits at a table near the door. She doesn't see you.

Everyone else; Entering the bar you're immediately greeted by a stern but fairly attractive woman in a suit. She looks like she's trying to appear casual, but it's all a bit alien to her. She's definitely* The Boss, wherever she works. Her SCL card shows her to be a not so giddy SCL 7B though. Otherwise the bar's fairly quiet, with only half a dozen other patrons in at the most, seemingly labourers from the spaceport on a skive. Dirk also spots Deject concealed among the decor in a dimly lit corner.

Are the big guys coming too, or should the people of smaller stature head in wearing civvies for a chit-chat first?

I'll be going without facepaints (for now).

K'trr doesn't really do civvies, so I'll wait outside, just away from the door. Shoulder lights off. Its more discrete.

Cheap round.
Sumner wrote:Down to business then. A member of my staff is suspected of being a subversive. We're unsure to what extent, or even if she actually has any subversive tendencies, but we'd like her put under surveillance. Observe her movements outside work, who she associates with. See if you can spot any potential Suppressor Power contacts - she may be being groomed as a Darknight sleeper. Report back to me as often as needed, use whatever means you deem appropriate, but remember that we've no certainty that she is actually doing anything wrong. The direct approach, therefore, would probably be unwise. The employee in question is my PA, Briony Miseo. Details are available on file on the net.

Stepping out from the sidelines (with his armor now sporting the Flying Jelly Attack Confectionery livery) deej pipes up.
I think it's best if we get started as soon as possible. Ms. Sumner, can you give us any insight that we wouldn't find in your employee's files?

She looks a little startled at your sudden appearance.
Sumner wrote:Well, we've had suspicions for a little while. She's been acting strangely - wanting overtime when everyone else is out of the office, asking questions about projects above her SCL. I suspect she might have tried to access my login account a few times.
Erm, I'm led to believe that she's from a Downtown background too. I don't know how she dragged her way up to Suburbia, but apparently she has some unsavoury friends too. I don't know how substantial that is.

Well, I was going to stay outside, but if you insist...

K'trr will stride into the bar, Warbastard in hand.
Greetings female human! I believe we have all the information we require. I suggest we split into two teams, one to discretely monitor the target, and one to investigate her Downtown past and the possible contacts there. I volunteer to provide support to the team heading into Downtown, as that lead is most likely to provide opportunity for glorious combat. I shall, however, remain at a safe distance. I would not wish to appear...
...looking at Sumner....
...indiscreet.

Yes I will get started on the research and once we have the information we need, I think it's a good idea to get started as soon as possible.
Looking around quickly, deej decides to take a seat at the table to take out his Oyster.

Ms. Sumner, your assistant's file is section D'd Is there any reason you can think of why that is? Also can you authorize me to view the file as well?

Dirk wrote:Ok Jordene (may I call you Jordene? It's a lovely name), we'll need the movements of Miseo going back over the past month if you have them.

We'll need history too. How did she first come to work for you? Do you have her references on file? Does she socialise with work colleagues out of office hours.

It would also be handy if we could view the offices at some point when we know she isn't around. I'd like to try bugging her desk if I can.
Something has also occurred to me that may be paranoia, or just knowing what a tricksy rabbit Pants is. I think we need to be careful that our mark isn't actually some sort of Internal Affairs agent. It would be just our luck to get caught bugging a Cloak agent or some such. I'll give Haynes a call later to see if he can check it out.
