"Touch the titan" is a game where zerg players accrue points by making as many touches on the computer controlled titan as possible.

"Starship Troopers" is another remake of the classic SCI game mode of the same name.
Beautifully recreated in the new engine, complete with soundtrack.

Fuck yeah!
you wouldn't class custom maps as a modification to the game?

'Modification' implies some level of 3rd party fettling to change game mechanics and suchlike A new map with the in game map tool is a new map. Admittedly if the map editor is very powerful then the line is going to be a pretty blurry one.

i always assumed modification meant to make any changed to the base design. simply changing the hue of all the walls in the game could be considered a modification no matter the method used to modify the content.

creating, manipulating and editing content can all be considered as mods as it is all a modification from the original content

just my opinion though

If you spray paint a monkey it's still a monkey. Probably a very angry monkey, or quite possibly emo if you spray paint it pink. Then again, if you sprayed it camo it'd get lost in the jungle and conduct surprise attacks on Gaza peace activists. BUT, it would still be a monkey. If you genetically engineered it into a supermonkey and strapped rockets to it's arse and fired it into the sun, it would be dead.

either way its still a monkey thats had changes, or MODifications, made to it.

its all just an arguement of what fits under what umbrella

modification is a broad word that i see as quite open to interpretation and i see custom maps as a sub catagory of modifications rather than a seperate catagory of its own

Purely 3rd party maps with canon units, AI etc I wouldn't call mods. But once you start introducing game play styles that deviate from original intention like most of those :above:, I would class them as mods.

And anything with non-standard units is a mod, even if it slots into the game as a whole. Unless the devs make it, then it's an expansion. Simples!

But yes, I have played the new sunken defence and it is good apart from the graphical lag it causes on other peoples machines.

Although I think Blizzard were pissing around with the servers at the time.

Nope, they said they'd bring the beta back in July, no given date though.
Game's launched fully on the 27th, I think this is fine-tuning.
