Got everything on low at the moment. It runs ok, but it still feels wrong. Perhaps it's just the mouse. I'll play some familiar stuff to get me used to it.
Switching to DirectX 9 mode made it quite a bit smoother for me. Doesn't look any different either.
Go to \Documents\BFBC2Beta\settings.ini and change the DxVersion line to this: DxVersion=9
There was something about veteran status if you own a particular amount of other BF games, but despite owning 4 others with several expansions, I've seen no sign of it.

You get a gun or two (one is broke) and a number next to your name in the friends list showing veteran level
I own 1942, 2, and 2142 with all the expansions, but I don't know how it would know that, since I used a different email address than the one I have for EADM. I think I ended up with two BeeF accounts for the same reason.
Edit: I have added my key to EADM and it gives me a downloadable version (I bought the CD version), might have to start over with a new char with that account, no great loss.
EditEdit: Bah, won't let me create a new char now I've used the key. Bottoms.

For pre-BF2 games you just have to put the CD keys in, for BF2 and 2142 you need to put the username/passwords for those games, even if they're different/different to whatever other EA account thingers you have. I had them nearly all different as well, worked in the end

Put them in where? Is there something on their website?
