wow, that's very beta.

Lot of rubber banding, CTDs on server browser for me now.

Gameplay is pretty fun so far, but lots of rubber banding.

Also, no prone.

But, it's day 1 beta, all to be expected really.

Pretty crap impressions so far.
No prone is annoying.
You can click Latency/Server Name/Player Count all you want in the server list but it isn't going to sort it
The movements just feel slow and consoley
The interface is poorly designed on a lot of things like the squad, spawn locations and scoreboard (I suspect more leftovers from the console version)
Meh

The presentation of the main menu is nice. That's all I can add.

IMO, no prone is a good thing after BF2 became a diving competition. I know it takes away from the soldier bit of it, but it was pissing annoying in BF2.

I think I'll wait till it gets released and patched before I even go near the game.

There's far better ways of combating diving that just removing prone. For starters making the time it takes to do longer so it's not as viable as a (really fucking annoying) snap tactic.

Same with bunnying, just make it so you ankle crack after a jump or two and then crawl around for a few seconds at a snails pace, that'll stop everyone leaping about.

What pete said.

Prone was pretty important in the old BEEF, what with it reducing how much of yourself you exposed and making weapon firing more accurate/stable.

Let's not forget that this is a beta, if people complain enough they'll put prone back in.

UPDATE: DICE have mentioned somewhere that prone will not be on the console version, which means they'll probably include it in the final PC version. I hope.
Now let's see them give us firing modes.

They might keep hold of them for battlefield 3.

Just think though, with no prone snipers will be at a disadvantage. I know some of you relish that thought.

Not really.

With no prone people will be unable to hide behind walls from me sniping.

I'll have to put a little more effort into positioning, but not a massive amount compared to beef.

No, there is nothing like creeping up to a proned sniper and shock paddling him to death, and him being proned makes it so that he can never get up in time to fight back.

Also, not being able to prone makes you a sitting duck for snipers, as things like walls no longer provide adequate cover.

I got a beta key from a place. Then I got lost looking for an option that says graphics so I could set it to something approaching a proper resolution. Then I got a crash when attempting to play a game. So I stopped.

I found it eventually. It was opening half the options screen as the on foot options so it wasn't showing resolution etc.

Still can't get into a damn game, it just crashes over and over.
