I'd feel dirty sweeping a game this good.

It's pre-loading now, restart your Steam.

It dropped off my favourites list, but didn't pre-load. In Euroland we get it 3 days later according to Wiki, this could apply to Steam.

Hmm, I still have all my save files but I'm reluctant to install it again (as I want to save some space).
Would I still be able to use my save files to carry my character through?

Yeah, I read somewhere you select save files from your hard drive, rather than it searching for some installed version of ME1.

Not my fault you live in a country that isn't as good as mine.

it's pretty good for me because it comes out when my last exam is over, rather than coming out a few days before and distracting me with Tali's ass while I'm trying to study

Yeah I get the feeling there won't be much time for studying.

I'm currently playing through the first one and enjoying it a lot. However, one thing I hope they change for the sequel - SPEED UP THE SLOW ASS LIFTS!

Need your ass lifting faster do you?

I thought they might have fixed that in the PC version. I'm sure it was there in the 360 for loading, there was a lot of loading.

I played both (as it was out on the 360 for ages before the PC release) and the lifts were notably speedier in the PC release.
I almost reinstalled the first one this week, but didn't want to burn myself out on it. I still have the savegames, although I think my 360 character was more awesome than my PC one.
I don't know how much is being pulled from the savegame, so don't know if I should refresh my memory a bit, or just start over.

I read somewhere (probably the same place I read the last thing) that ME2 has no elevator loading screens at all. I hope that's true and not just wishful thinking.

Every major decision (usually involving someone who either lives or dies as a result of you) but also some apparently minor things like whether or not you let medical research on a corpse continue or whether or not you found a smuggler out in the galaxy

Ack! As my second playthrough I think my PC game was in cupcake mode.
