I concur with Berk. A constantly flickering bit of stuff in the top right of the screen would annoy the piss out of me. If its done so subtly as to not be annoyingly flickery, it may as well be a still image, and get better quality for less file size.

Not for what I wanted, but if anyone's got any groovy little clips they might be good for teh front page maybe.

I still think they are worth doing Dog Pants, particularly on the front page, as people don't constantly view that, so it wouldn't annoy anyone.
