I've bought another surge protecty plug strip, can't afford a ups though. Really should just move out of hicksville yorkshire though, it truly is bat country and I shouldn't stop here.

Fuuuuck!

Playing a bit of vampire masquerade and it crashed, as it does, but now the fucker has restarted into the usual loop of broke rage inducing rage.

I think I may just sell the new bits and spend all my savings and a lot of credit card on a new pc.

Fire an email to the people you bought it from, they normally help with that.

unless you bought it from ocock, who will probably RMA it faster.

I could not see that. Possibly the alcolol. It was dabs and they just plain refuse to take the return saying its straight into the manufacturers warranty unless it's a distance selling thinger. I've emailed them for clarification on that though.

They don't like making it easy to get your money back, I've got a perfectly happy 650watt corsair modular psu I want to return to get a more powerful one for a new i7 rig I will build, but it's direct replacement under warranty. That's no good.

This is a result of getting the bloody thing back from the shop and them still not being sure but pointing fingers at the cpu, I might try and rma that too.

Offer still stands for spare shit for diagnosis/get you back running again.

have 2x775 CPUs, 1x striker extreme (iffy but works), handful of rams.

The new mobo is fucked. It's at the point where it's an rma on the mobo and try an rma on the q6600 (it was retail after all and hasn't had some harsh overclocks thrown at it.) Or shell on another core 2 quad.

Or a whole new build on the i7 platform, which is rather expensive but would provide a better return for the outlay differences.

And I'm not sure the 650 watt psu is going to be enough for an i7/5870 system so I'll have to try and get money back on that or sell it for as much as I can.
