Very nice work but I worry about the source images you had to look through before you found a good one.

pfffttttt that made me chortle, but panic like fuck at work at the same time.
Sorry to be a Hitler Admin, but I've changed it to a URL instead of an image.
So what does everyone think, is this going to make things worse than if he were given a life sentence instead?

Killing him wont change anything, but not killing him would give his supporters reason to think that his actions were forgiven, and he wasnt really all that bad a guy.
Personally i cant wait to see it on youtube.

Personally I think it's good thing. A public hanging may go against our Western sensibilities but I think we have to start learning that this is a different culture and we have to respect it. It also sends a clear message to the leaders of other oppressive regimes, but if the appeal process enables Saddam to be locked up for the rest of his life this could undo all that.

That's a good point Spoodie. Personally I'm reluctant to condone the death sentence, but as you say this is a different culture and I respect that. Of course the West seems only too happy to interfere with middle-eastern culture when it suits them (us?) though.

This is very true and we in the UK can't put all the blame on the US, we're just a guilty and we will have to wait and see how history judges us. I was all for the invasion of Iraq before it started, perhaps some good has come out of it and the UK presence in Iraq was beneficial, but the true motives are potentially criminal in my opinion.

Has anyone been able to pick up al jazeera on Sky Digital? I was talking to my Mum about whether she'd watch the hanging if she could and we thought AJ would carry it. I then went and research the channel freq/polarity/etc to set it up, finds it fine but when we actually load the channel up it just says "There has been a technical fault."
It could be censored here, or Bush has bombed their offices?
Anyone know anything?

Looks like we need a thread in the Entertainment section.

It appears to be on Astra 2 and is an unencrypted channel

If you can pick up any of the other channels on 11527Mhz you should be able to see this, can you manually change polarity settings on a sky box?

Yes I can happily see Thomas Cook and the NHS channels. Its just AJ that borks. Might have actually been a technical error at the time and it might be fixed now.

Jon Pertwee can reverse it, but only if it's a neutron flow.
I'm going to have a play with my sky box tonight and try to work out what you're talking about.

I've never had any luck picking up extra* channels on Sky Dig like you could with Anal - you seem to get your "bouquet" as Sky call it, and that's it.

Well you have dish pointing at Astra 2 and a receiver with which you can manually enter channel info so in theory you should be able to pick up any free to air channel on this list

(Edit, assuming it's a digital channel)

OK I think I have answered my own question.
AJ is a pay channel, you need to subscribe.
I can pick up the AJ Promo channel (11681 V) fine.
Ah well, I'll have to watch it on either you tube or <strike>the American Propaganda and Catholic Extremism Channel</strike> Fox News - they're bound to show it.

Before it happens I'd just like to say I'd rather not see it on 5punk. It's in pretty bad taste, leave that sort of thing for Bangdup.com.
This is just my personal opinion by the way, not an Official WEY Directive(TM).

I'd quite happily watch that but I wouldn't watch the beheading of a hostage or something like that. Can't really put my finger on why tho. Both is the ending of a persons life.
