If you touch your software enough does it become hardware?

The pro copy, it seems to suggest it's an upgrade copy, the faq isn't helpful and I can't use the links in work because they felcher through an ad-click website.
What type of upgrade type is it?
I'm ordering my copy through a quasi luddite mildly retarded co-worker, she's lovely but a bit dim and I'll have to supply her with precise instrucions on what to click or she'll end up buying me office or something.

I think it's the same europeen upgrade as everything else (that is, a full version)
They say if you don't have Fista version whatever, you'll have to do a custom install.

So I'll need the right version of fista or a win 7 option to use the pro upgrade version on, hmmm.
Did you buy a fista to upgrade from berk?

Booo, £30 student offer is actually £39 as you will want to be buying the disk kit for an extra £9.
Still, Win 7 Pro for £39 isn't half bad.

Why the fuck would you do that?
It'll be easily downloaded off the floor, thrown onto a usb stick (considerably faster than optical media) and install in 15 minutes.

Because I'd forgotten about installing from a USB stick until you just reminded me it was possible. Yes, I'm a wally.
But as I like having proper Windows disks anyway I'm not too bothered.

I've never had one before, even if I did, I'd never use it.
Too much awesome to be had by slipstreaming the universe into your windows install and be ready to go on first boot.

vlite works with it, apparently.
Can't imagine it'd be that far removed from Fista.
Course, unless you're a massive OEM, or an MSDN bitch, it's not legally available just yet.

I decided not to since I already have 7 Pro and you have to pay extra to get a disc or something.

I believe the download is free although I'd pay for an official DVD - I'm still after PRO, how much would it cost US wise?
