That is true, but at the moment Im a mod for general and to be honest, im only really doing stuff in there with the Beardy stuff.
Also we would have to be careful it did not become an isolated area, making sure that both the ethos of the main site was carried through to it such that it would still be accessible and understandable to all 5punkers, and that new members joining for the beardage were made welcome on the rest of the site.
Carrying the ethos through wouldnt be a problem, I think. All the games we have done so far have been pretty 5punky (up to and including the teams being horribly disorganised  ), and a lot of the people doing it are "core 5punkers", so to speak.

I think making it a seperate forum would actually make beardage as a whole more understandable to the rest of 5punk. As it is, its just a handful of unexplained stickies at the top of the general forum. Giving it its own space would let it be more explained without taking over.

As for the last bit: I think the kind of outsiders likely to join in on 5punky roleplaying are also likely to be pretty 5punky already. As long as it doesnt get the problem of Other Game I Shall Not Mention, with non-beards taking the piss, and as long as they at least spread out into the rest of the forum (even if they dont play any of the other games) we should be fine.

:above: All of that. Joose for beard modz!

If you want a second I'll gladly help, I've done a bit of cleaning up in entertainment, but it looks after itself pretty much so Lat's 'hands off' approach is perfect. :P

As a lot of us beards are spreading our filth around the rest of the forums, no doubt we could encourage any other beards who join for the spazzing with dice to take a look around the rest of the site. I think it's likely they'll be into their mmongs and murmorpegers too, so there's crossover with other forums.

Possibly shuffle the browser gaming into there too?

Keep it as a PNP RPG forum, I think.

I think we decided there's sufficient activity to warrant a separate area for forum, chat and potentially tabletop based roleplaying games, as long as there's no requirement for anything beyond what a simple forum currently offers.

If so, we need a Name, Tagline, Location (within the list of forums) and a list of Mods.

The further stuff was a germ of an idea for me, maybe to be elaborated on when I have more time.

Beards - Non-computer based gaming to stroke and scratch.
Located in gaming
Mods taken from general gaming (Joose)

Is my suggestion.

Bearding does, but I think it's a good forum name anyway, makes the point in a 5punky manner.

Fair point. How about 'Games which require random number generators, flasks of tea, and facial hair'

Beards - Life getting you down? Become a busty elven hooker or a stompy robot of doom!

Or

Beards - A place where we nurture your strange fantasies about hobbits and guns.

Or

Beards - Wouldn't you prefer a nice game of chess?

I think I like the wargames one the most. Bit shorter and neater than the others, hints at geekery with the chess but has hidden depths of nerd with the reference.
