What should I draw to christen the drawing section?
How does one start a Vladimir scene off for the public masses?
Should I wait for my expensive camera before I dare post any photos?
Should I get a new blog to differentiate from my Livejournal blog?
Draw a picture of you drawing the below vladimir cartoon
Vladimir should be making a website
You already have good photos on Flickr, post them
Yes

Why does Vlad need to be different for the public?

Whatever you fancy, don't draw for the sake of the website, draw as you would normally.
With the first vlad comic?
Not at all, the camera is just a tool*, use the photos you have, they're good so use them.
Probably, yes.

*A nice camera makes taking good photos easier, but it's still your eyes and skill that lets you take a decent photo.

it's always handy to have a crappy camera you can always carry too, no risk and good photos if they happen.

all of the above. Nice cameras make taking nice photos easier, and they can make photos nicer, but that doesnt mean photos taken with a cheaper camera are therefore shite. Youve got some good ones in your flickr, take your favorites from there.

Thanks for the advice, it's useful to have someone elses opinions.
I guess I don't think so much of my photography because I end up staring at it for a long time while I fiddle with it, and so each picture loses its charm after a little while. It's nice to know that you think my photos are good.

As for Vlad, yeah I'm looking to place him into a single-panel webcomic format.
Any ideas for his first outing?

You did an intro of who Vlad was once, seems a good place to start, there's also the Urban Dead stuff too - I second what berk said though, not drawing specifically for the site, or even what we say will make it seem more natural and emblematic.

Your pictures are both engaging and sharply focussed:which is more than I can say for any I took before I got my current camera, but even the finest photographic equipment is no substitute for enthusiasm.

Main reason I bought the UD comic to a halt was that it was difficult to replicate each person.
It's the kind of thing I have to be in the 'mood' to draw.

Very nice!
For some reason Drawing is crying out to me for an S, but there's probably some grammatical reason why that's wrong.

Looks very nice but the multicoloured words at the top are a bit hard to read.

It's not full resolution, as photobucket have decided that you can onlu upload at a max resolution of 1024x768 now. So that may account for the text looking odd and too small. As for Drawings.. I have thought that too. Though it didn't look 'right'.. Maybe I just need time alone with S to forge a relationship with it first.

looks good
though the multi coloured lettering of 'GRIMMIE.CO.UK' strains my eyes a little.

I like the design except for the words underneath 'grimmie.co.uk'

It reminds me of that custom etched powerbook that berk linked to a while back (can't find the link again...) a bit too.. cluttered.

I don't think your site needs it because the design itself gives off the image you want without having to actually state 'fresh, humurous' etc.
