Do we just have to give you our email, or do we have to sign up as well? Or do we only sign up as well if we want to chance it as an individual too?

/confused

Yes, that's it exactly. :P

A lot of peeps have signed up on their own as individuals, so you can try that if you want. I figured we might as well try as a guild too so I decided to get anyone who wanted to have a go and put them on the list to be sent to the jumpgate people. Just an attempt to get more chances at getting some keys so at least some people play the game before release.

Groovy. I'll probably do both, even though I hate betas.

Oh boy. A 'latest forum' post attracted my attention and I found the poster ranting that the game is shit because your ammo is automatically replenished when you dock. Apparently that will remove any prospect of a player driven economy. Yet more posters seem to have taken this as a sign that, and I quote, 'the casual players have won'.

I despair.

No, it'll be full of the softcore refugees who like auto replenished free ammo, training based on grind rather than time and people who want to be able to hop on at 8pm, play for an hour or two then log off for a week.

I expect so for a month or so, then they'll all sulk off back to eve.

To a point. I'd bet good money I of about 1000 ex eve players who are going to be at least curious, but there's no way it's going to drown out the bulk of people who will pick it up for a month to see what it's like.

This is probably true, and probably will be true for every major MMO made from now until people decide there's no money to be made in them. Luckily there's also a lot of idiots who will write off a game before release because one aspect of it isn't exactly to their liking. No, wait, they'll subscribe and spend all their time complaining in the general channel. Incidentally the guy who made that post had also made about 650 other posts, so either he loves complaining about a game he'll never play, or that one tiny aspect insulted him so much he'll refuse to play. Or he's just an attention seeking idiot.

It looks nice and shiny but I'm guessing it's going to require a monster pc to play it.

It seems to be the shouty idiots that get listened to, though - even if he's made 650 posts saying he's not going to play it, a single post saying "can you make it not like Eve, 'cos if I wanted to play Eve, I would play Eve" isn't as likely to get noticed.
