The first public test of the Multiplayer Portal project. The Portal gun allows you to place blue and red doors from one part of the map to another, allowing seamless transition for people, objects and bullets!
cheers

Pirates Vikings and Knights II - Multiplayer - Released - Version: Beta 1.1

The Pirates, Vikings and Knights II team is trying to bring a unique mod to the Half-Life 2 community. In PVKII, 3 teams will compete against each other for kills, points, and total domination.
The mod will feature 6 classes on each team, all contributing to the general strategy of the game. The classes will be setup in a Rock-Paper-Scissors fashion where, for example, a class on the Knights’ team may be strong against a certain class on the Vikings’, but weak against a different class on that team.
Our mod will also include a unique melee combat system that includes 4 methods of attacking, parrying, and blocking, to make melee combat more fun when compared to general hack and slash combat.
Game play in PVKII will vary for each map and possibly each server. Our coders will be setting up general game entities in a way for our game modes (Booty, Territory, etc.) to be custom made per map.
Our team is working hard to bring the community a mod that is both original and fun to play, as well as something that looks good too.
This has had the Beta released, I vote we give it a go, I will host the files in a bit.

I've been playing a fair bit of Hidden Source (B3ta 4) over the past couple of days and I'm really enjoying it. There's been many genuinely scary moments. As I get more used to the Hidden's controls, I'm having lots of fun pinning people to walls and dropping down on them from above.
There're a few really good maps too. Did anyone get into this at any point? I feel I might be sub consciously warming up for S.T.A.L.K.E.R though, but it's still fun.

Anyone else heard of Obsidian Conflict? Seems to be a Half Life Co-Op mod... seeing as Synergy seems to be borked unless you shell out for Half Life Source (which I don't feel I need to buy as I have every otherHL game!) it might be good for some HL Level co-op shenanigans....

Synergy only works if you've touched faaabulous Ben in his special place, that's the rules.
Someone mentioned Obsidian Conflict on the Steam forums in a thread about why Synergy doesn't work (and how you go about doing the touching), but I failed to download it at the time, will now.

Obsidian conflict, despite having a name like a book only sold in airports is rather good.
Me and jock played an evil dead map, small wooden shack with tool shed and trapdoor to basement. Triggered evil recording in basement and suddenly there was zombies, lots of them.
+1 over synergy, worked nice and easy, has really shit/good menu music too.

You've sacrificed 15 minutes of your life so we don't have to. Good man, very noble.

It really was, giggling like spazzer schoolgirls whilst 'hiding' in trees disguised as a vending machine.
We should play it again. In fact...
