That. :above:

Seriously though, i can see where they're coming from - it's meant to be a noob server, people using a 2nd account to point whore *could* be an issue.

However, banning someone who plays well for a few rounds, basically just getting lucky (sheriff can attest to this) who then takes the time to try to get unbanned, giving pretty decent proof they're legit.

well, that's cheap. i call them girls.

Winning? Getting banned? :)

It was my first game online, and it's a 10-50 honor server, so i felt i was well inside the target audience.

Most of the time he did ;)

They must know they are in the wrong, but there is no way they will admit it, it would be like admitting they got 'pwned by a n00b'.

Shame really, it was a good server.

This is exactly why 5punk exists - the majority of intarweb gamers out there seem to have a similar attitude (or at least the vocal ones). I think without our 5punky outlook me and probably a few others would have kicked online gaming in the head a long time ago.

THIS :above:

I'd still be playing Heat Of Battle mod on COD, and not having a clue what game to buy, or how much fun gaming with friends can be.

I've been trying to work this out in my head because it just doesn't smell right. I mean, I can't really see any way you'd be able to give 5punk and xfire as evidence unless you were legit. Unless maybe you'd created a new xfire profile to go with your new AA account, and then set up a whole 550 user, 40000 post forum (and done it years ago just to be safe), just so you could "pwn n00bs".

So two answers, as it seems to me:

They know they're wrong and are just being stubborn - ref's decision is final and all that. Some people are like that, although if you're going to set up a server for new players it'd seem you'd have some interest in fairness and nurturing interest in new people.

Or

You're too good for the server - it's a new server and new player or not, if you're constantly spanking them and making the game difficult to learn (deliberately or not) then you're going against the ethos of it. In this case I'd say a perma-ban is fair because you'll never be the same level as their target audience, but if it is the case they haven't said so.

EDIT: Also, I suspect a few people have felt the same about us on our BEEF server. I've issues with this that I'll address later in a new (on-topic) thread.

Evidently they are very childish people or just children, probably best left anyway if that is the case.
