I never did play the mp much but i have to say that it will not be replacing my beef time soon. found it very annoying, slow, sniper whored (guilty of this too) and just down right boring. seems to lack the excitement and daftness of the other that ive played with you guys online e.g beef and cs:s

I quite liked the coal mine map. If it hadn't declined into a sniperfest it would have been great. I really miss the sprinting though.

I'd have liked to have had some input in this, but I was at work. Until 9:30. Again.

Cunts.

Oh well it was worth a try.

I only had chance to run through each map for 5 mins each the other day on my own.

The whole point of this was to give it another go with different maps, but if it doesn't float your boats, then never mind.

It really was just a bit of an experiment to see if we could put some life back into the game, btu it obviously hasn't worked.

I think comparing it to Beef is pretty pointless, as other than being a FPS, the games are completely different in every way I can think of.
The coal mine map was just chucked in because it was very different.
As suggested in another thread though, you can all have a look round for custom maps, and if you want one loaded, I can do it for you.

Other than at work (which is funny when you think about it) I don't get time to trawl through the internet or test out custom maps before loading them on the server.

If anybody else has some suggestions then that would be great, but just ebcause the coal mine map turned itno a sniper fest, is no reason to get rid of snipers all together, especially as a lot of maps in COD2 make the sniper rifle pretty useless.

Never really understood the "anti-sniper" thing that people talk about in FPS games, as surely they are part of the game, and necessary on massive maps?

Maybe, but it's just not fun, well at least not last night anyway.

Though there was a map with a beach and a room with 2 baths in it!!, begins with B I think...

Depends how they are used, too often it's a tactic of weak players trying get a disproportionate amount of kills, they find somewhere where they are difficult to see, then take out a few people before anyone realises where they are - then they repeat this utterly boring, tiresome tactic endlessly like an autistic twelve-year old*.

Players with more skill will move around after a kill, making them very difficult to spot before it's too late, what annoys most people about them is that players of this skill level should really be able to collect kills with any weapon.

As we know, though us FPS players are an eclectic, mercurial bunch - and what it okay one round becomes "whoring" the next. When I'm feeling particularly charitable I even try to avoid shooting people in the back, but I'm sure most of us would agree that's going a little too far.

* I speak from experience of having played against one.

Also, I believe the sniperfest last night was my fault. A random who had joined sniped me four or five times, so I decided to get a sniper for some payback, then everyone had one.
