I think after all the excitement of carrier ops and mass haulage yesterday (rudely interrupted by E-R gate crashing ZX) we seem to have forgotten the fact that we successfully escorted our own freighter to empire and back with over 3bill isk worth of stuff on board. This is a giant leap forward in capability for the corp, so let me be the first to say Woo! and Yay! and a big thank you to everyone for their efforts. It was nice to have some help from R-E as well. Count owes us 30mill by the way :w00t:

Yes, this^

I've alerady changed the MOTD in-game, but to re-iterate here I was very very happy with how it went. No-one was massivly nervous on vent (I think Pete was, but he was quite about it) and even when we did get jumped by those nice chaps from coreli it was just treated as buisness as usual.

Same time next week? :)

Glad to hear it all went well!

Now if we can get our Empire freighter up and running, we can begin to mass fuel in Maspah at levels that will keep us happy for months at a time! I an imagine hauling a month's worth of this or that fuel each day while sitting at work, so it's just a matter of figuring out levels to bring out to the chain.

Then a little armada for escorting, and we'll be able to do ALOT!!! :)

Uh, for going up we had:

2 rifter scouts, 1 rifter rearguard, 2 ravens, 1 vagabond, 1 blackbird - this was when if the freighter had gone pop, 4 billion would have gone with it

Comming back:

1 rifter scout, 1 rifter rearguard, 1 raven, 1 caracal, 1 vagabond, 1 cyclone, 1 blackbird - That was with a months POS fuel and a load of minerals

Trick is too log the freighter off asap at the first sign of trouble

Um, this might be of some interest depending upon how long it takes to sell the fernite carbide

T'was a joke. freighter runs as an when narf, and no we shouldn't need one in the next week or two. POS fuel is down here, we've got a billion isk of fernite in empire to sell. Me personially, I'd be happy to build up a nice big pile again then haul when we've got 8-9 mil of it.

:above:

However, Pete would of course like to make use of his not insignificant investment and will be offering his freighter up for hire. I countenanced that it would probably be a bad idea to undercut ISSL, and as the Industry Manager I would always offer ISSL as the first choice for ISS Corps. However, they're not always available. Following terms and rates apply:

25mill per 100km3 for escorted run to empire.

15mill per 100km3 if own escort is provided.

No content insurance, no empire hauling if war dec extant, no guarantees. Freighter pilot reserves the right to cancel without notice.

Proceeds: 50% to the escort, 40% to the freighter pilot, 10% to the corp.

Meh, that works for me. and s'not that hard to get 5-6 guys in one place at the same time these days, so could be viable.
