Loxy wrote:Well looking at the other threads, you lot are clearly up for a Lan - so don't forget the GT one in October. For those of you with no transport - you could start walking now - meetcha there in Oct! Seriously, its held in Brum cos its sorta the centre of the UK. Webclam - rouse this sleepy bunch for me would ya?
Rouse this sleepy bunch? How? they are all surgically connected to COD, BEEF and EVE.

It would take a small thermonuclear device to rouse them.
that said, we have a 'thing' in brum in Oct, (somewhen in the teens) and if it fits in, I'll see about popping in.
ALTERNATIVLY, if someone spots me the fuel, I can fit 4 other people in the car for the run up.

Excellent - its only £20 pre paid, £25 on the door..
Ty aka Sir Die Aloty wrote:Who would be up for this, if we get 10+ we can look at a group rate, so come on guys, lets get something sorted.....
I will certainly do something pricewise for a group of 10 or more - how does £15 each pre paid sound?

ROFL - you make me laugh Webclam - glad you've made yourself at home in GT. :)

How much would the fuel cost? It costs me £40 to get there and back in my car - and I have fuel left over of course, which divided by four would be fab, but I can never do that - cos of the stuff I take with me! Something you have to bear in mind of course - with a boot full of beer, is there any room for that PC of yours?

THE NEXT LAN IS October 20-22, 2006.

I would prefer that someone from here accumulated the cash - but I can do it if peeps prefer. The £15 is for no less than 10 people though - and is payable in advance of the October date. :) Ta.

this is not all that unusual now, I know lots* in a similar position.
live in a city/near work or whatever and a car is not needed and is an expensive luxury.

it's possible it's BECAUSE he has no lisense that he has a top-end pc.

lossiemouth only has 3 cars and they are all booked out for the next year or so.

There are rentable machines for the price of the entrance fee - but they are limited availability - about 10 I think.
