If you're running a game (fullscreen) on one screen is it possible to have any control over the apps open on the other screen? For instance if I wanted to mute someone on TS and not minimise the game.

if it's possible without alt tabbing etc, do share with the class.

Is it possible to mute somebody else on TS?

Yes, but only for yourself. You can't currently mute <strike>chicken</strike> someone for all users.

it's possible to mute them so you don't hear them, muting them completely is a bit more of a pain in the arse.

Not as far as me or Nick knows. I can't imagine how it would work without an alternative control device, like an additional mouse or keyboard.

What was the answer? I'd assume if you had multiple cores you could set affinity to different cores and maybe switching between one or the other wouldn't minimise. Although I did also read that if you open your game in windowed mode, then drag it so it's full screen anyway, you can clicky other things without any minimising occuring.
And Hehulk, Bobbinses is 100% on the different modes and that your card should do them. I wouldn't try and run any game spanning my screens, it would just fail, one is 22" and one is 19", it would fail less on two screens the same size I have no doubt. The same goes for clone mode unless FUCK YOU LAT running something that isn't too taxing. The best option for me was 2 seperate screens, even though they have to have the same background.
I also d/l'd a program called multimon, it adds a taskbar to t'other screen, just because it looks weird without one, it also has a copy/paste clipboard bit that shows the last few things you ctrl-c'd, I find it quite hand for server ip's.

cores etc would make no difference, making game run in a fullscreen size window can work, but you usually end up with the outliney crap.

Also, Pete loses his place in the Grammar Nazi race for using "your" instead of "you're".

UltraMon mentioned back there and well over a ago does the same with lots of extra features which could be handy if you can get used to them. I'm testing it on my dual screen work setup. Having 5 buttons in the title bar is confusing me a bit though.

Hmm, I'll have a squint, I like having lots of semi-useful toys that can make me lazier more productive.
