There was an alterior motive behind why I posted this, and that's because an awful lot of your favourite online games, don't seem to be played by any 5punkers.
Especially some of the old school games like Quake 3 Team Arena, Halo etc...
You can pick these up dead cheap nowadays, so how about we all list them once people have posted, and give some of them a blast?
My personal fav' was the original Soldier Of Fortune, which is a fantastic online game, and I "think" floorware versions work online too.
Any suggestions to which of the online games mentioned we should look into.

You're a tricky sort Woo
A lot of the games are so old they probably wouldn't play as well now compared to new games, but I can see what you're getting at. Halo was great (even though it didn't make my 5), UT2K4 has made a comeback and COD:UO has retaken its place above COD2. There's a good chance more people will own older games like these too.

scheming mofo! good idea though, i had the original SoF back when it just came out, and i found out that trying to play it online with an average ping of 500 isnt fun. made me quite dizzy actualy. i'd be up for this though, if only so i dont have to buy anything

I'm sure the point was to go back and try retro games.

SOF2 doesnt count as retro? Blimeh.
If we are doing retro, though, my vote goes to either quake 1 or doom.

unlikely you'd need hamandcheese
i think doom, (there was a win95 version which might work) IFrag, and some network lube should do it

I'd love for some Quake 1 deathmatching, or even some Superhero Quake...

Doom originally used IPX, but later versions may work.
