i'd really love a multiplayer war game with some triggered events, like if a building gets enough missiles shot at it it would collapse, or even the ability to plant loads of c4 at the bottom of a building and destroy it. Better yet, bring back geomod from red faction and the ability to blow holes in pretty much any structure

Multiplay Red Faction never worked too well as I recall. It was only when all the walls were "dead" that we'd actually start shooting each other.

Actually the radiation levels after the explosion wouldn't kill instantly, if I remember my radiation classes from school, but it would cause vomiting, hair loss and other unpleasent effects, then death. (see: When the Wind Blows)

HAIRLESS RADIOACTIVE VOMIT ATTACK!!!

Depends on the level of radiation. Low levels can just cause slight illness that goes away after a while (although it might cause sterility and cancer), higher levels cause the effects you mention, even higher levels can cause you to pass out pretty much straight away, to die an hour or so later. Potentially, larger doses could kill straight off, but as its kinda difficult to test that kind of thing, no one knows for sure.

I watched a bit of gameplay footage yesterday, it does just look like BF2 with different maps, weapons etc.. and the guns have a really high pitched sound which will probably get on a lot of peoples nerves

funnily enough, the gun in question did look almost identical to that, and as for the sound, it sounds as you would imagine a "photon cannon" to (even though i'm pretty sure it fires bullets)

2142 runs on the same engine as BF2 (Refractor 3 I believe, which itself is an upgrade from BF1942's Refractor 2). So essentially it will behave in the same way as BF2, but with a few minor tweaks (and bug fixes I hope).

When I talked with DICE (*cough* name drop much? 8)), they explained that 2142 is a whole new game, and how the engine isn't everything - see Unreal engine-powered games for example.

This is pretty much what Titan mode is all about. A Titan is a big hovering carrier thing which your team can spawn on. In Titan mode you have to bring down the enemy Titan's shields (by holding certain flags/missile silos for X minutes), then board the Titan and blow it the hell up.
