What game isn't overhyped these days? Any game that's from more than a bedroom programmer focuses more on hype than gameplay. I mean they don't really care if you enjoyed their lump of shit as long as you buy it.

Certainly any big-budget game gets plenty of hype. Journalists can't really slate a game before it's out, it's unfair, but PCG try to hint at the quality by the seriousness of their previews. I try to ignore it either way.

I'm not really feeling it with this game, not being that impressed with the associated previous efforts, but that trailer is awesome.

Farcry was good until those fucking monsters, but it was a bit linear.
Crysis, well yeah, nevermind.

However, from the stuff they're saying, this might be interesting, given it's based on a big slab of land, not an island, so should be much more open, ergo, more chance to fuck about :)
