No need to be rude bubbles. American football has the shape of the ball to compare it to rugby and that's about it.
They spend more time standing around than doing anything, and if any of their defence tried to play 80 minutes with a short break in the middle then they would die from heart failure.
Some of the best offensive players have the fitness, but take them out their pads and tell them they can't jump about or have other people get in the way of the tackle and they'll get destroyed.
It's not that I dislike american football, but the two sports really are totally different.

I thought Soccer Moms was a term used to describe SUV-owning road hogs, the name being because they stereotypically drive their daughters to soccer practice in them.

Mainly because it is.
