Game: Ocarina of Time. Imagine that, sharp resolutions, super smooth realistic graphics and 5.1 sound. WOWSA

Game: One of the MegaDrive Sonics. HD, 2.5D graphics with updated but still wonderfully bleepy music. Speed as a reward for skilled play, instead of the interactive movie guff we're apparently going to get with Unleashed.
I might get back to you on Film and TV, but I'm terrible at picking favourites.

Game: <s>Elite</s> Bindun, many times over. Either StarGlider (an early wireframe graphics driven flight/combat sim, or any of the 'FREESCAPE 3d' engined games. Yes i know that the pyramid-y one has been remade, and i'm pretty sure that Driller has bindun too, but they were fan remakes. I want to see one with the full glory that 20+ years of tech development could bring.
I'll hold off on saying mechwarrior, because theres aparently a Total conversion mod coming out, based on the CRYengineII, but i want to see that. even though it will make my PC explode. posibly
Film: Live action Tom and jerry?
TV Series: Blakes seven. I've never got round to watching it, but a lot of people rave about it. Problem is, i'm not sure i'd be able to go back and watch it now. So one of those please!
Film Of a Book Can i have one of these? A book called Marine Sniper, By charles henderson.
Talks about Carlos Hathcocks experiences in Vietnam, and how he re-established the skill of sniping/sharpshooting in the USMC. He's also the guy who put a bullet through a VC sniper's telescopic sight, and the guy who bolted a 'scope to a .50cal heavy machine gun, and indirectly led to the Barret Light .50.

2. You mean Deus Ex 2. Whatever that "Invisible War" thing was it was not Deus Ex 2.
Game: Commander Keen. Best platform game EVER.
Movie: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.
TV Series: The Pretender. Great show that just had a bit too much early 90's cheese. I bit less cheesiness, but no melodrama plz.

Game:Phantasy Star 2 or FFVII with DX10 graphics.... just thinking about that and I had to change my pants.
Film:Not sure I'd like to see any of my favorites remade, but if I had to pick I'd say 2001. Maybe follow the book a bit more, with lots and lots o' shineys.
TV Series:I'd say some form of live action macross would be cool, but I'm happy with the newest anime that's airing now (Macross Frontier), so can't I just have more ST:TNG? I don't want remakes, just another 7 or so seasons with a few more movies. Or if I can't have that, maybe M.A.S.H., just no Pam Anderson as Hotlips.

Platoon. An amazingly powerful film, written and directed by some chap based on his own experiences in Vietnam. I think its safe to say that film started a few acting careers, so I would be interested to see if a more experienced crew could tell the story any better. Although Tom Cruises gleaming teeth might spoil the mood somewhat.

You're kidding, right?

Granted it's about as realistic and subtle as anything Arnold Swarchenegger could churn out, but for a 20+year film I can't help but love it.
Actually thinking about it, Swarchenegger would be perfect for the remake.
Or am I missing the point of your confusions?
Actually thinking about it the claim that it started anything of a career for anyone is completely guesswork, if that's what you're getting at

Well Johnny Depp plays a crucial role in the film.

I concur. Let all mention of "Invisible War" be struck from the records of time.
As for me:
Film: I'd love to see a re-make of
Fritz Lang's 'M' - truly great film.
Game: Hmm, dunno. Good call on Deus Ex. I reckon Cannon Fodder might make for an interesting update too.
TV Series: Again, good call on V. Personally though I'd like to see a really good update of The Prisoner.

Games, I could go on for ages: Deus Ex, System Shock 2, Thief 1 and 2, Cannon Fodder, Alien Breed #1, k240, detroit, Syndicate (pantsu!) etc....
Films....I'd like to see a modern remake of Tron, and perhaps Ghostbusters as they'd benefit from the special effects improvement. Maybe the Forbidden Planet.
Films are iffy though, as they're masterful even if they look a bit dodgy, but I would LOVE to see a full version of Metropolis (the version's existing now were made from damaged reels, it's missing about 30 minutes footage iirc), and that would probably be great if a modern remake was made, but...it's a silent film, so it wouldn't be the same.
TV Series: Blakes 7, A-Team, and Bucky O'Hare. Oh, and Airwolf
Oh, on ze mention of Deus Ex:
http://offtopicproductions.com/hdtp/ High definition texture mod, only an alpha, but pretty.

I thought of it, but it was too obvious and I'd get more play out of X-Com.

did you follow the links I gave you about remakes of X-Com last time you mentioned it?
They be lurking on the discoboard I think, but
UFO: Alien Invasion I had fun with, shame it's unfinished.

I did, but they all look a bit pants. What's wrong with just polishing up the original?

My confusions is that I think its still perfect the way it is. I didn't quite get the hippy dude but other than that it was as good as it gets. Berenger, Dafoe were awesome, McGhiny played the perfect whiny guy, Charlie Sheen was the perfect greenie, and Kevin Dillion was the perfect gun happy military punk. Or, are you talking about another Platoon? Cuz this one won a buttload of awards for a reason.
If you want realistic...those are called documentarys on the History Channel.
Sorry if this came off with an attitude...other

affecting me atm...wait a sec....I'm not sorry!

I don't get why people like the new BSG so much. It's watch-able but there is so much in it that annoys the shit out of me. The acting ranges from bloody good (Eddy J. Olmos) to utterly fucking shit (James Callis). I've watched the first few series and can't bear to grind through the rest. The main plot works well but it meanders so much I find myself thinking "Just get on with it!".

I watched parts of 2 or 3 in the beginning...it was just silly and too much of a soap opera....maybe if they edited it down to like a 3 hour movie instead of dragging it out for a whole season.
Thanks...that helps me definitely not ever watch it now
