It's amusing enough, kind of like the City of Heroes (or most modern RPGs) character generation system. I doubt what you get there would spoil the game - if that's the most fun thing in the game it'll be shit anyway.

As for the money, you get the money off Spore if you buy it (possibly pre-order, and probably off EA Link) so EA are only making profit off those who don't buy the full game.

I am surprised and disappointed that noone as created a badger yet.

I really hope there is an option to select certain people from the random masses to use their creatures to populate your world. Some of these look great, and it would somehow be more fun to have 5punkers' creatures around.

Presumably. You can in the creator (in fact you have to or you can't save it). You can also put a description in and search tags.

Yay! Now I'm getting more excited about this game again, but I'll still not try the creature creator until the full game comes along.

My creature names are terrible!

It's the last thing I do before saving the creature, and I usually want to get it out the way quickly before making a new one.
So examples of my creatures are;

Fathead, fatmouth, fatbutt, doofusbutt, hurf, floopyfoot, suckerfoot, fishface, etc etc.
