Things to feel fluffy about today:

Last week I was on an awesome training course, learnt loads of stuff relevant to my job and really enjoyed it, especially doing a few satellite uplinks with a portable dish.

This week is free party week, tomorrow night is our company Summer party, Wednesday is a fancy corporate party I've been invited to and Thursday is a Karaoke night (Also a corporate party, but I didn't get a proper invite, I'm being hauled in to make up the numbers cos loads of people from another department are really dull and wont do Karaoke)

Did you have to find the bird by hand? I always used to find this Turkish TV station and we could see the picture on our posh spec analyser. We always knew where to go from there, and people would usually comment when we started watching Turkish TV during setup :)

Yeah complete manual operation, we did it a few different ways, first by compass bearing, then a bit of fine panning, another way was to come in from the west until we hit Hotbirds, then you can work out from there where your Satellite is and we looked for the beacons on the anal-iser for a couple.

I don't do this day to day (Actually never at work, and probably never will) but it was cool to have a go.

Almost unbelievable, but I picked up an old money "purse" (the kind you stick under your shirt in countries where you get pickpocketed easily) on Saturday. Opened it up and saw what looked like a £20 note at the bottom.
Thought "aye up, that's a nice pressie" and took it out.

Turned out to be 4x £50 notes! Brucie Bonus! I think it was from a couple of years ago where someone gave me a lot of cash to pay back a debt, I think I stashed some of it there to stop me from spending it!

Oooh, nice. I've not seen a £50 note in years.

Sun is shining, I've magic'd up £75 for the download festival, which I'm off to tommorow evening. Weather reports look good, as aformentioned, sky looks good, there's plenty of bands I'm looking forward to seeing and hardly any clashes.

Oh yer, good happy place this is :)
