Yet another:
Fjae - Stygian - Necromancer
I'm still not completely decided, but this is probably my favourite so far, if a little difficult to understand. A big ice minion seems to appear randomly and help you out - I have no idea what I'm doing to summon it.
I'm comparing on areas I've had difficulty with (ie: died) such as areas with lots of mobs and the bosses. I'm getting them to L9, then trying something else.
My Demonologist is good at pulling and clearing a path, can stand up to bosses one-on-one and deal with a few expected enemies, but has poor survivability when mobbed from behind.
My Herald is fine against ordinary mobs, and has a very nice uber mode when dealing with bosses, but has poor crowd control when fighting multiple targets.
My Necromancer is generally a lot tougher against normal mobs, and has a good area-attack for multiple enemies, but doesn't have an obvious boost mode which makes the boss fights quite tough unless the ice minion decides to appear.

Couple more alts for me. None are past level three:
Tindalos - Herald of Xlotlotlotl - Stygian
Iogsotot - Barbarian - Cimmerian - ginger
Looking up some Cthulhu mythos for name variations, because all the main ones are restricted, seems that there's a Hyperborean crossover. Lovecraft set a lot of the background of his stories in Hyperborea (without Conan et al), and the Conan stories have a few references to Cthulhu mythos in them. I'm hoping I'll see more connections as the game progresses.

Lovercraft and Howard were friends, mostly through mail only iirc, part of the 'lovecraft circle', I think they both shared a high level of racism as well. He even wrote some mediocre Cthulhu novels.Dog Pants wrote:Looking up some Cthulhu mythos for name variations, because all the main ones are restricted, seems that there's a Hyperborean crossover. Things like the pool of the black ones that you see on tortage are all from his works, quite interesting to see in 3d.
You maybe knew all that
