Updated as I've decided to concentrate on jewelcrafting for now. Are gems of any use to anyone else? If not I'll take them from the bank even if I can't use them yet, to save space and maybe put some random jewellery in it's place. Don't be shy, if you can use it, take it.

Socketed stuff are mostly 61-70. Even with Jewelcrafting you will make fabulous rings, necks and trinkets at low levels. There are some which are quite good. Also below.
(REQUEST TO JEDI: Implement
this if you would please.)
This one is quite random but you may get either satisfying results or much money.
A quite good caster ring.
One of the best melee rings for a long low-level time
DPS melee-type ring
A pretty good ring for cloth wearers
JC is quite a pain to level though, you need either a handful of luck or a good amount of cash at high levels since recipes for gems cost about 100-500g for simple blues, 500-1000g for meta gems. Prospecting is a good way to get gems for stuff at low levels but at 70 it's not really worth using since Blizz nerfed the prospect rates for blue gems to oblivion.

That script could be handy, but I don't know how easy or otherwise it'd be to implement.
Interesting, but most of those are some way off for me to make and use.

I could see that being useful for a wow-centric community.
But fucking horrible, pointless and annoying here.

Ogres in Tanaris and the Gnolls in Fenalas are quite good for Mageweave.

Mostly that, although I believe Gnolls are more runeclothy types.

anything 40-50 will drop mageweave (maybe mixed with some silk and runecloth) best bet is probably Zul'farrak/Maradon/Sunken Temple if you can get a boost.

For anyone doing the orphan quest running this week, I've left four ice creams in the guild bank. Save people a trip to the salt flats.
Rewards for the quest, which just involves touring a few locations (barrens outpost, Ratchet, Undershitty, Thunder Bluff, and the racecourse for me), are a choice of:
A pet pig
A pet rat
A pet tortoise
5 gold
Pick the quest up in the orphanage in the Valley of Honour in Dog Rimmer.

I've just done that one. You can buy most of the materials from vendors, but you'll probably need Pants' help to get the 4 x handful of copper bolts - once you've got everything just spam trade saying "my mats lol!"

Yeah, I can make the bolts. I'm working on getting my engineering higher so I can make the blunderbuss, but it's a bastard to level, as is mining.

If you are able to make it, stick a load on the Auction House - I bet loads of people look on there when they get that quest.
