Although I've not played it for a while, I'll confess that I used to go for the 5punky team when joining Teef, but not to the extent so as to get the Persistence is the Key award. However, I've never done it in COD and always auto-team. Probably because when we first started playing COD there were very few randoms and so it was 8 5punkers playing, as opposed to Teef where it used to be 50/50 most of the time.

Something about three-team COD appeals to me.

I agree about the whole being nice to randoms though. It's one of the founding principles of 5punk, after all.

Pffffft

I've seen 3-way COD mentioned a couple of times now, it it going to happen, or is it just an internet dream?

Depends if a 5punker manages to code it.

Internet dream then.

Do you mean heavy re-working of the game then? I imagine it to be somewhat near impossible to do satisfactorily, but then my coding skills extend to putting things in italics and adding smilies without the buttons since I view in PDA mode at work. :)

I'd like to code a noobtube that scores for the other team to see long it takes for anyone to notice.

Be easier just to have the noobtube do either negative damage or negative points.

Negative damage would offer more lols.

:above: Buzz, consider it done, although I'm pretty sure it will disallow sv_pure for the server (no xp gained at all), and I'm not sure if it's integrateable to ModWarfare.

As for the 3-way CoD, maaaybe, but perhaps only for TDM, and I'll have to check out how playerspawns work.
spoodie wrote:Personally I always auto-team. Unless I'm on a full-ish server with plenty of randoms and someone says "everyone on the blah team". Then I might get on the right team or I spend the rest of the round shooting 5punk. Oh yeah!
:above: That mostly. When playing with a handful of 5punkers (say, Shada, Chickenz, me and perhaps 1-2 others CoD and such) we usually go on pre-arranged teams but when it's a dozen of 5punkers, I just go auto-assign, although it might lead me to realizing that I have a crappy luck and I'm always on the random team. Except when not.

And finally, for bollocking, I'll just keep it on TS then.

Absolutely, TS is still free for all* as far as I'm concerned, as it's mainly only 5punkers, and most people will take it in the way it's intended.

I did install the mod tools, but I haven't had time to look at how complex it'd be to make 3- or 4-way TDM yet. Hopefully it won't be too hard.

Fixd. Coding 4 way cods now -_-

Looking at the code files, they aren't too big and they are coded in quite an understandable language. What I'm afraid of is that we might need new maps if we want to avoid having more spawnrape than in a full-length match of 32-man shipment free for all.

'Slinger doesn't play much cod, thankfully. I've been a bit mediocre of late so I propose buzz the annoying student bastard for that fourth spot.

Tangent well and truly achieved.

I, being the type of person who'll play teef until 6 in the morning, found a new sense of responsibility when berk gave me admin in teef, I was less of a dick to people, telling the griefers to quiet down/giving them warnings, only had to kick two in the end, the drunk racist frenchie and a guy who found an exploit in the new map and kept using it after I told him not to.

I haven't played CoD much recently, I just kind of got tired of it. It got far too boring for me, whereas Teef somehow hasn't

I'd like to encourage more players to our servers - it gets bloody boring playing the same people over and over again. I generally don't pay much attention to what is said in chat (multi-tasking is not my strong point), so I often don't notice if randoms are being cuntish until it is pointed out.

It does piss me off that people try to drive people off/ban them just because they're playing well (generally under the facade of hacking or "x" whoring). People are allowed to be better than us - leetness has never been the point of 5punk. After all, we are all shit.

That said, I wish that Elvis Duck character would just piss off. :P
