Here's something I don't get about this game; how the hell are you supposed to defend yourself - regardless of your level if you're out of APs sat in a building logged out a level 1 zom can come along and eat you and you won't know until you log in again.

Am I missing something?

Isn't the point that you're supopsed to find a safe place to hide before you run out of AP's?

Yeah but the zoms can still get in if they smash down the barricade.

Okay. I'm stocked up on ammo and ready to move to wherever we're meeting.

First thing I would recommend is that everyone get free running so we can barricade our buildings (or get into barricaded buildings).

We need someone with construction so we can secure our own buildings.

I believe we have at least one necrotech employee. If we can find a building without barricades (or destroy existing ones) we can create a nearby zombie safehouse where our shamblers can go and be revived by our scientists.

So where do we want to meet? I'm in the north west and can start moving as soon as I've got some more APs.

I was gonna move out and head for somewhere more central but I'm in a safe house at the moment and will get freerunning before I trek out.

To start with i'll get free running, then build up my axe skillz with Hand to Hand combat, then probably get construction

A lot of central areas look Zombie overun but as i'm in a quiet suberb right down in the SE I don't really know how dangerous they actually are!

Dog Pants... you could start heading somewhere central then if you find a good area you can let us know, i'll do the same from where I am when I move out

Edit: A Zombie just got into our heavily barricaded police station?!!?, I got 1 hit in before I ran out of AP, I hope someone else kills it before I get munched!

Oh yeah, another top tip: Police stations, hospitals, fortresses and malls attract Zombies like flies to hot shit (to coin a phrase heard playing COD2 last night). Best thing to do is find a building nearby to hide out in and make foraging runs, with freerunning preferably.

Often buildings like this will have stacks of people in them, but you can bet that when a horde of 100+ zombies (yes, you do get groups of them that big apparently) arrives and smashes the barricades they'll all bugger off sharpish or get eaten and use their APs to munch on their former housemates.

Also, how the hell did you know a zombie had gotten in? Did you log in at exactly the right time or had he ran out of APs or what?

Yeah pretty much, I logged in to check out exactly where I was (using this handy Map, I'm in Fricker Crescent PD FYI) and spied a Zombie in the building, I had 4 AP's (should have run away I guess!) but I wrote a message to the others in the PD saying "Erm does anyone want to kill the Zombie that has wandered in?" I used my AP's to attack it, then fell asleep!, logged back in later and there was a message from someone saying they'd killed it, :whew:

I decided to create another character to mess around with while Brobbins is recovering AP's, I went with a scout so I could free-run from the start,

I used up half my AP's just trying to get inside a building that wasn't heavily barricaded!, and I ran out looking for a safe place to wait after going through 4 zombie infested places, didn't know if it was safe...

Logged back in after I regained 1 AP, I was being attacked!!, oh noes, and i'm infected with Zombie plague  , I used my 1AP to get to another building, dunno if that ones safe either Image

This is quite exiting for a crap graphics, browser based game :faint:

Wow, you really do have an infestation problem there. Where I am there seems to be a couple of dozen zombies in the area in ones and twos, and I've not known one get into a building yet. The police station I've been scavenging from has I'd say 60+ people in it so maybe it's a human held area.

Huzzah I have signed up! I am a medic currently in Dunningwood. So far I have managed to get 2 fuel cans (don't know what they do) and two books (I learnt nothing from them). Nor do I have any XP points.

:cheese:

Edit: Bollocks. Having read the Wiki more thoroughly I wish I'd gone as a Firefighter

Fuel is used for Generators, which I think are only useful to power hospitals to increase healing abilities and to power mobile phone masts so you can text other people with mobiles. Books have a small chance of giving you XP when you read them,

You could start a new character if you don't like being a medic, or try and heal people for XP. My 2nd bloke is now a zombie!

Go to your profile by clicking on your name, then change profile, then just enter '5punk' in group

Then you can put your name on the list here by editing the Wiki page
http://wiki.urbandead.com/index.php/5punk
If you want you can make your name a link to your Urban Dead profile page

No exact area to head for yet, somewhere central but safe!, check out the main map on the Wiki

Edit: I am currently: A Zombie in Brooke Hills and a Survivor in Miltown, my Survivor will be heading NW to the center, My Zombie will be gaying 'Graaah' a lot till I get revived
