from that page.
EXPANSION SLOT
1 x PCI Express x16 slot (runs in x8 mode)
Also, from the graphics card page.
Product Requirement:
1. A PCI-Express compliant motherboard with full size expension slot
That specifies Full size. which a 16x slot is, it does not specify that the slot (electrically) needs to be 16x. which is probably why it works fine in your crappy 8x mobo.
Seriously, this is getting us nowhere, I'm not willing to give any advice on graphics cards for that motherboard, as plugging graphics cards into an 8x PCIE slot is pretty much an unknown, as most mobos support 16x properly.

Also, you probably meant to say: "waits for" rather than "waits to"; "come and pick" rather than "come pick"; and "Lat and Eion".

I thought motherload was just an Americanization of mother lode, and therefore accepted by most.
That, or I'm most horribly (never mind likely) wrong.

You really should upgrade your PSU, 450W can cover what you've got but I wouldn't trust a no-brand one.
I'd go with a 8800GT over an ATi, as much driver magic ATi can/may pull off the GT is a better card.

I wouldn't attach any hardware to a 450w no-name china special PSU. ever, so set about £50 aside for one that won't asplode.
Of those choices, I'd take the 2nd mobo (which is atx, not micro atx, so might not fit in your case) though, I'd actually just not be dumb and buy a C2D system.
Any of the GPUs will be fine. Just not on that POS PSU you have.

All of this.

Wut them said.
Get the 512 gt if you can afford it, if you needs the money for a good psu, get the 256 one, it'll still be nice and fast. Also, if you can afford the moar expensive mobo, buy that too (istr that your case is full atx) it'll be better for any overclocking, posess a better layout, be capable of cooling/regulating itself better, and will last a lot longer. You buy shite you pay twice.
Good luck with all this, the sense of achievement after bunging loads of new stuff into a case, then watching as it actually turns on always gets me to almost smile!
