Got through using HDR with a reasonable framerate. Mind you, I only played up to the monastery and then I couldn't work out what to do, so I left it. I'll probs go back sometime.
The begining was a little odd I thought.

Hmm, I appear to be waking up on a beach. How strange.
"Oh, hi. Hey, you're that scientist aren't you? Freeman? Yeah, you must be here to kill some Combine. Well, off you go."

I know it doesn't tie in with the story, but a little explanation would be nice. It annoys me the way it just washed you up and told you to go kill.

I can honestly say I didn't examine the plot quite that deeply, and there's not that much besides killin' after the monastery.

Pisicks, aye? I tried gravity gunning chairs at the wall. Didn't do much. Then i smashed some windows, and repeatly pressed E on the funny elevator thing.

I bring shame to Freeman's fine reputation of cleverness.

I think he meant to use the pisicks to acheive the objective...

It can't be too short, it's only a tech demo.

Information about where it fits in to the sory here:

Played this yesterday for the first time.

Ran like a slug with a hangover
It actually crashed at some point, and it's the first time I've been officially pwnzor'd by a game on my P.C.

Might work without the "HDRlightthingamyjigwhateverit'scalled" but then there's not much point in playing it is there.

that is correct. I'd be surprised if your computer can't handle it, since my shitty laptop can manage it just barely...

F.E.A.R. seems to be the only game (so far) that's empwnzornated my PC. I've got it running (although not entirely satisfactorily) with a very specific set of tweaks, which have the unfortunate side-effect of rebooting my PC in other games, particularly when using TeamSpeak and CS:S.

As far as i know, nothing has pwnned my PC.

Ah, yes. My occasional tinkerings with Visual Studio and Softimage XSI have bummed it pretty hard.

For some reason I'm reminded of the bash.org quote I read (I think it was bash...)...

"My comptuer beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kickboxing."
