hmm my see about getting one then, as a wee treat for, um well I dunno what to treat myself for. Oooh for quitting smoking, I've been a non smoker now for months.

You shouldn't treat yourself for stopping smoking, you quitter!
MX518 here too, it's a bit handy with buttons hanging off it for all kinds of stuff, going prone and reload on the side buttons and knife on the top, for times when a gun is just too impersonal!

Another MX518 user here, based on Berk's recommendation. It's rather nice after a generic jobbie, and has certainly improved my twitchy shooter skillz0rz and TEEF playing.

My generic wireless logitech that I posessed before this un was rather good too, they fit my oversized hand well, even though it ate batteries, it always did what I wanted.
Never b0rked my sound/windoze, which has always been an issue with razers, if yours works vibrospazz, you've got lucky.

I also used a generic wireless Logitech mouse for years. It worked rather well until it decided that it liked the corners of my screen so much that it randomly would shoot to one of them. This also happened while gaming, so while playing CS:S I'd suddenly be looking a my feet while spinning around spastically. I'm not sure why, as it was optical, but I figured it was time to retire it. Replaced it with a Logitech MX400, and aside from it being slightly too small for my large hands it's the best mouse I've owned.
*misses his PS/2 trackball that had 3 buttons*

The 3 in the family work fine.
I did however find that only the reference drivers on the CD and the drivers direct from Razor work properly, the ones available via Windowz Update completely fuck your system.

I've had a Razer for years and it suits me fine. Never bothered with the drivers, just plugged and played. The side buttons never get used because they're in funny places (probably trying to be ambidextrous), but I don't care because it matches my colour scheme.

Yeah, I care more that the extra buttons aren't where I can press them accidentally. I have one for shoot and one for run, but that's just my weirdy config. I've WASD'd on occasion. Well, twice.

MX518 here as well. it really did make a difference for me, and i agree with pretty much all of you that it's the best mouse ever. i'm still rubbish though.
