As a thought, and to control loose lips and war decs, what if the 'discount goods' are only available to X-5punker's, so that 5punk remains in the background a bit, witht eh X-5punker being a 'source' of market valued T2 bits to their new corp. It could kinda be an enticement for them to let said 5punker in as well.

Just some late-night thoughts before i try to log in and check evemails.

FIX'D

Any cut price stuff should only be available to 5punkers and ex-5punkers. Everyone else pays normal market rates (or work out a deal depending on bulk/delivery etc). After all, it'd be one of the privileges of being 5punk, and you still need to make a profit.

Effectively 5punkorp becomes to us what NR was to BUM: a collective alt/main corp for conducting daily business. NR is totally carebear and benign, but 5punkorp can yarrr, war dec, join other alliances or whatever in the persuit of riches.

This has the virtue of being very clear cut in the various corps assigned roles, and protects all involved. Sounds good!

/me sees alot of work ahead making T2 stuffs, tracking costs, being a market whore, shipping stuffs all over Eve, making isks and building capabilities, and wonders about offering 5punk stock for sale to get it all started......................

/me orders bulk aspirins. FREIGHTER LOADS worth of bulk aspirins, and smiles at the evolution of the 5punky Way.

IPOs for part time business plans are not a good idea. They need constant management, public reporting, are subject to external scrutiny, and you see 25% of your profits disappear in dividends each month. You also have to have a proven business case before embarking on the venture, which we don't.

Much better to invest the capital we have now, build up our own business, and if we get sick of it we can take a break without scamming anyone.

I like the idea of affiliated, limited companies like 5punkience, NR, Trinity etc. We each sell to one another at mates rates, providing an end product at below market price to the 5punk community, but still making an overall profit for ourselves.

I agree with Friz, IPO is far too much like commitment, and as commitment (or lack thereof) is what this conversation is mostly about, I think we should avoid it at all costs

Avoid commitment at all costs may be my new catchphrase :ahoy:

:above: And Dres and I are working up a production line system that will involve minimal input from people, so we can achieve it with only a few minutes work each week.
