I must apologize to Pete. I'm sorry.

My theory is that failplanet was originally giving out new keys to people who already had one when they weren't supposed to. Thus I got a new key (which has now apparently replaced the old one I had before). In the 2-3 minutes that it took me to go through registering for it again, they must have fixed it, and stopped giving out new keys to people in the beta. Thus, I assumed that since it gave me a new key that they were needing everyone to get new keys as well.

also, obviously saddam had wmd's and blew up the WTC.

Played it for about half an hour, only had a go as GDF though.

I think it's much, much better than the first beta.

Computer says NO!

or more accurately, during the loading UI phase after starting the game it says "this program has crashed on the count of a missing file"*

and after reinstall:

"the program has crashed despite the fact you now have the file in question, we just don't like the look of your face!"*

*may not be real error reports

I have cgx86.dll, that's about the closet, no gamex86.dll.

I played some last night, it does seem quite a bit better. I'm still struggling to work out all the tools. I ended up deploying more stuff than shooting people, then constantly getting killed while trying to use the things I've deployed. *sigh*

downloaded again, re-installed, updated graphics drivers and i still get the same problem.

I think gamex86.dll is extracted during loading from the game000.pk4 file in the base folder.

I did update my graphics drivers but i don't have catalyst, would that make a difference? it doesn't seem graphic related anyway

hmmm, not really sure what I think, only played a match and half.
But it does seems rather blocky/chunky *turned graphics right up* and seems very much 2142. Didn't play the original beta, so no idea of the difference. But will give it another go later and see what I think.

Ok i finally got it working, i think apache was pissing me about, but now i don't have pb installed.

Seems like 2142, i like the objectives that require a specific class, but then i'd like to see this feature implemented in to the titan mode of 2142 for a real comparison

But they're different games, why try to make them the more similar and then compare them?

I'm saying that if bf2142 had that, it would be better. i.e. if bf2142 had that, i wonder how it would stand up comparatively. No need to scrutinize everything guys.

Yeah it would have been nice if 2142 was more of a revolution than an evolution from BF2. It seems like QW has taken a bigger step, which is nice.

yeah I'm liking some of the features, the disguise is my favorite, and the flying drones.

It's all still quite heavily strogg dominated from what i've seen
