never had a problem with pipex as of yet, they were a bit slow at upgrading us all to 2 meg but i'm there now

They still haven't upgraded me yet, and they were scheduled to do it in June... :unimpressed:

Service wise they've been great though.

i got my upgrade just last week, so much porn... errr i mean legally downloaded music so fast! :faint:

I'm thinking, well definetly going to change ISP asap probably to plusnet, going for the 4mb option when its available. Before I change could someone explain the contracts to me? I had a look on the website but theres little in the way of information on them

Mine's quite expensive (£30 or so), not that fast (256k) and rather weird (wireless). Pipex own it now, but it was a Tele2 operation initially, then Firstnet.

Plus points are that it's never gone down (except when I "forgot" to pay them for a year), it's synchronous (same upload speed), fixed IP, and it's a very low contention ratio (only three people in the city had it before they stopped offering the service) so it is pretty much the speed it should be, all the time.

I could probably get them to up the speed (at a small cost), as it's actually somewhere between 1 and 11MB to my house, just throttled by their tranceiver, but it's plenty fast enough for gaming, and my hard disk is full of...documents as it is.
