I can see a flying swarm being nigh on impossible to squish, but surely tap dancing on spiders would solve the problem?

Bart's a Paladin in plate armour. He could probably pretend he's on fire and do the ol' "stop, drop and roll" and squish a load of the fuckers.

Yeah, I'm open to creative solutions if you start struggling squishing them with conventional weapons.

All my weapons are stabby. It'd be like eating peas with a cocktail stick. How much webbage is on the ceiling?

Bit murky with your flickering torch, but you don't see any ceiling, it's all web.

Good. I wonder how flammable silk is...

Tossing it up into the web then?

Bart and Spiders took their turn ineffectually attacking each other.
If you want to toss it up, give me an attack roll -4 for it being a non-proficient weapon.

I didn't take throwing torch proficiency? What an oversight, oy.

Roll(1d20)+-1:
14,+-1
Total:13

Not great, but then a ceiling isn't a small target. Also, if thrown weapons use dex rather than strength as your attack modifier then it's 16. I suspect it's the former though.

EDIT: Nope, dex apparently. 16 then.

The ceiling tries its hardest to dodge your attack, but fails!

Your torch sticks fast to a stretch of glistening white web, which after a second or two begins to smoulder and catch alight. The fire spreads at an alarming rate, and you soon find your torch back on the floor next to your feet, a bit sticky and flamey.

There's a shower of webby embers now heading towards the ground.

Bart?

 I feel I should make one of these, even though I have nothing to shout at him for

For some reason I had convinced myself it was someone elses go :?

As I have no idea what else to do, I shall try and hit them again:

Roll(1d20)+3:
2,+3
Total:5

:( Well that was worth the wait.

You can do something else too, a move action if you want. Flaming ceiling web is falling at alarming rate.

Standard + Move
Move + Move (x2 speed)
Full-round move (x4 speed)
Full-round action (Some attacks, some spells etc)

If you don't move out of the spiders area, you'll have to make another Fort save to not be nauseated.
Think quick!

Then I shall move out of the spiders area!

Climbing out of the church or just moving out of spider crap?

Just FYI, I'll be trying to do the former.

Good job boys and girls.

The spiders make their move towards the window in an attempt to chase you down, but now on the ground they're not so spry.
The web up above bursts into bright flames and the chapel is filled with a thick smoke as embers shower down from the nest you've fried.

Most of the spiders get hit with the flames, some of the others are smothered in melted web-silk which falls in sizzling black blobs.
The remainder of the swarm speed towards the window and rapidly bugger off, crawling along the outside of the walls and out into horrible, horrible freedom.

Combat's over!

If you want you can stick your head in and see what's still on fire with a spot check, though you'll have a -4 for the room being filled with smoke.
I'll give you a -2 if you wait a couple of minutes before looking.

Of course, you could do something to expedite the smoke..

I shall thank pray for thanks to st cuthbert, and ask for a handy gust of wind, so I can better see if the church still has any evil heads to bop.

What are you looking at me like that for? Might work! :)

Interesting idea. Roll a 1d100.
