I dunno if anyone else is following this on Sci-fi.. but it is actually ridiculous the way they've scheduled 6 ad breaks in to an hour show, and at one point I swear I saw 10mins ads within a 15minute period. The show is great, no qualms; but I feel I'm going to have to torrent the rest so that I don't get really fecking angry at my telly for making me watch so many ads.

Commercial breaks have been steadily increasing in time over the last few years. I remember back in the good ol' days when adverts lasted like two minutes, not fucking eight like they do now. What really pisses me off is when you see like a minute of the beginning of a tv show, then the opening credits, then it hits you right with a fucking commercial. I've watched a total of a minute and a half of the program and they're already shoving fucking commercials down my throat. Fuck you sky one.

That was quite a cliffhanger
I wonder how Peter is going to get out of that one?
Also I'm loving using usenet to grab HD quality versions, looks great.

Good episode, but what's Linderman going to want in exchange for what he's offered nathan, but how the hell are peter and syresh going to live through that.

Just before my monitor spackage this morning I set my dustpan and brush to episodes 7-18 of this, and once I've dispatched with the final 3 episodes of 24 series 1, I'll give this a go.

I do believe it was that Heavenly Sword on the PS3 that made an appearance in episode 18, which isn't even out yet. Am I right?

US scheduling absolutely baffles me, it really does. Quite a few shows seem to be taking daft breaks atm.

WTF, WHY?!?!

I can imagine the meeting now.

Hey guys, lets give em a really nail biting cliffhanger, better than we usually do, then make em wait a month to find out the conclusion. that'll make em smile

:x

On a side note, a theory:
We know peter is ment to get a scar at some point, from what future Hero has said. Odds on that's part of the resolution of this cliffhanger, which means at least one of them (Peter and Suresh) survives their encounter with Syler. That still has peter being on track for being the bomb though, since I don't trust him simply being able to recall powers is enough to sto him self combusting

Hmm, IMDB reckons 12 March for next episode ".07".
Spoilar wrote:I wondered about the scar, when he recalled the healing power - Clairebear doesn't have any scars. Maybe something happens that he cannot heal fully. It would be a shame we lost Suresh now he's finally not being a dumb fuck and actually doing something, even if he did bungle it.

Spoiler wrote:He might not even end up with a scar. In future hiro's timeline they didn't save Claire, so he might not have had her healing power, and after his encounter (or an entirely different encounter) he had to heal the good old fashioned way.

Hurrah! Watch episodes 2-9 yesterday with the missus and its really rather good. Yay for hungover sundays!

Also - solved an issue with the dark scenes being a black monotone - turn the brightness levels up with the media players equaliser settings. It makes a world of difference, and its a case of finding a balance so that the lighter scenes don't appear as some post-apocalyptic bleached landscape but the dark ones are still viewable. We could actually see what was going on in all the dark indoor scenes - of which there seem to be rather a lot.

Anyway, I read through until ep10 was mentioned and thought I shouldn't go any further yet. Still have another 9 to go till I've caught up!

As for the arguments with the plot - I'm in the camp that prefers the slow build-up of characters. Discovering superpowers and immediately ganging up to save the world wouldn't hold my interest at all. However, I think Hiro adds a bit of lightness to it all and keeps the tongue-in-cheek levels relatively high. My main gripe is the voice-over guy in the "Previously on <strike>Lost</strike> Heroes" bit at the beginning. He is annoying as fuck, especially when you're watching a few episodes in a sitting. The bits of monologue about evolution during the intro is interesting though, despite being used as a red herring for the plot (references to evil coinciding with images of Claire's dad - I'm looking at you.) However, like I said, I'm 9 episodes behind here so I'm sure it'll turn around several times yet.
