My only crashes since the last two patches have been CTD, which is a major improvement from blue-screening.

Ideally I'd like it to not crash at all, but the steps being taken seem to be in the right direction.

I only seem to crash after a couple of hours and all it does is go back to desktop, which isn't too annoying

My only gripe* with the game so far is the lack of solo content. Public quests are fun but require a group, and late night isn't exactly the best time to get a RvR scenario.

*that isn't related to other players stupidity

Yeah, I'm getting that feeling. Thing is, PvE content isn't really that bad, especially compared to Colon. I just think that compared to its own PvP and Warcraft's PvE it's a bit light.

It's odd, I can't really find anything wrong with the game. Yet I still find myself being not paticularly inspired, despite the environments being fairly nice, the quests being common enough, the characters being fairly interesting.

I'm thinking that it's probably just because it's not that well established. The peripheral stuff needs to be boosted to give the game more depth - stuff like more crafting and getting the AH working and players using it more. That's something that'll just take time and some effort from the dev team, and hopefully it'll survive long enough to get both. If it doesn't I'll really start wondering if any MMO will ever survive under the shadow of Warcraft.

:above: Also, putting some of the easy solo quests in busy RvR areas = not so great.

Right now the game is rated at I'll play the month out, then see how I feel. (usually means back to CoH for a few months)

How does this really have a negative effect on a core server? Given you need to flag yourself...

I really quite like this sort of thing on open servers. Had some really fun battles with guild mates along side me while we battle destro and NPCs, and those kind of battles only ever seem to escalate :)

Because on a core server, there's a great many areas where you get auto flagged for RvR if you enter them, hence me specifying busy RvR areas.

All core really does is stops you getting ganked in the street, assuming you haven't ended up RvR flagged by looking at someone funny, or giving someone a beer who later RvR flags themselves.

I did have an amusing encounter with a goblin in the Marshes of Madness. I was wandering along a road, PvP flagged for whatever reason, and I saw a gobbo coming in the opposite direction who was also PvP flagged. We eyed each other up as we approached each other, then passed by with each of us suspiciously watching the other. After we'd furtively skulked past each other we both carried on our way. Until I turned around and shot him in the back, then he came back and killed me.

Only just though, bloody gobbos!

I find myself doing a lot more non-solo stuff in WAR because, as people have said, the solo-ing is a bit weak and the grouping tools are much better than previous MMOs that I've played. I generally prefer playing with others in most games these days, even if it's with randoms, who are mostly okay.

I suppose if the environments were more varied and interesting I'd be more tempted to explore. I really enjoyed just wandering off somewhere in wow due to the effort gone into the environmental design.

Yeah, WAR isn't as bad as most other MMONGs, but they've still not managed to capture as much character as Warcraft does in the environments. I've said it time and time again that it makes a massive difference in the immersion - the lack of loading screens and open playing fields feel so much more like a living world. I'm amazed that no other games have thought to copy this basic mechanic - it's 5 years old for christ's sake, how hard can it be?

Rather, apparently, I find WAR stutters a bit when swapping between zones in the same tier/area.

I'm often seeing other players ahead, frozen in a running position who fade as I get closer. I assume they've transitioned to the next "area" ahead of me, it's a bit spooky.

I like chucking a few axes from a distance at the end bosses in public quests just as other people are about to finish him off, them having done all the hard work. Despite this I've not yet rolled in last place, whoever did must have been pissed off though.

I has last name! And a gyrocopter!

Both were purchased only through unnecessary effort it has to be said, finding the right people to do things in altdorf is a bit fucking silly at times.

I've also discovered that doing chapters in other areas that are lower than your current racial one gives rather good stuff of equal or better quality. I'm on dwarf chapter 11 wearing some chapter 10 stuff, chapter 9 in noncy elf land has given me some kickass armour and a spiky helmet in a german ww1 style, the helmet starts are a bit poo, but its pink and spiky, like a helmet should be.

This is a bit of a gripe of mine. Not that the people are difficult to find necessarily (although some are), but also that only half the stuff you need is there. As a trade hub it should contain all the stuff you need to trade, rather than sending me all the way back to a tier mission hub just to find a vendor that sells some crafting stock.

I'm getting rather tired of having to continuously walk from one end of the map to the other just to hand a sodding quest in.

The minor bugs as well - they've had plenty of time to fix them now. My attack cycle at the moment seems to consist of: hit someone from a distance, get told I can't use my next ability because I can't see the target, decide to use another ranged skill because bad guy is still quite far away, get surprise sexed as said bad guy teleports directly to my feet.

:above: I've also noticed that using a closer attack and being told that my target is too far away, only for said attack to happen a second later on anyway of its own accord.
