After you've opened the door, the goblin does as told and tramps down the stairs, almost tripping over himself as he's shuffled between two bigger bodies.
At the bottom of the staircase, down the woefully thin descending corridor you catch the flickering light of a torch. Thor reaches the bottom step first and gets to glimpse a sort of foyer area that splits into a T-Junction.
The wall on the left has a couple of torches inlaid into the rough, hurried stonework. One of them is alight and steadily burning, the other one has been left alone. There's a dusting of light rubble bunched up against the edges of the walls, and a rusty pickaxe left idle against the far wall.

The Goblin motions that he doesn't know which way to go with a universally recognised shrug of his shoulders.

Actually, it's not easy at all. I'd have to hit you with it's end again and again, until your bones decide to give up and your skin ruptures, pretty painful, you should try it sometime.
