Cats are clean, quiet, kill for fun, no hassle and cute as fuck.

Dogs are messy, stink, need constant attention, food all of the time, need to go for walks, have to pick up their shit, they slobber on anyone who visits and generally annoy me.

The lack of constant attention for cats is something that could be argued either way I suppose, it just depends what you're looking for in a pet.

Personally I'd rather not have either. Having a pet is a problem for me because I have to travel in order to do anything other than sit at home, so I'm constantly asking people to pet-sit for me. While I love having my cockatiel, I'll not be letting Mrs Pants get any more animals.

My parent's dog likes to kill and eat birds if it gets the chance, in fact she should probably do the same to any small animal she caught, especially squirrels. Although I'm fairly sure she wouldn't do the same with a family pet but it'd probably be best not to test that theory.

As for the pet discussion, one of my yorkshire terriers used to chase birds around in the garden. It actually caught a sparrow once. I have no idea how it managed it, as it's quite stupid. It often runs into doors thinking they're not there.

And my rabbit used to sit up on it's hind legs and use it's front paws to fend off my dogs (neither of which were trying to do it any harm, just sniff it and then run away when they got punched).

That last pic is all of the win, in my opinion
