Grey's Anatomy
Hospital story on two threads (multitasking!). Hospital thread: 4 new trainees arrive at Grey's Anatomy, who usually fuck up everything, but from right here it's typical hospital story. The other thread hosts a love line, which just means that by the end of series 4, everyone probably fucked everyone in every possible place. To avoid confusion and abuse: I don't recommend this show.

This is a thread of reviews, not "shows I like". Find any mention of it being good in my post.

Good point.

Wiki says: Based on Evan Wright's book about his experiences as an embedded reporter with the 1st Reconnaissance Battalion during the Iraq war's first phase in 2003.

Berk says: Rather good, kinda band of brothers 2003, worth a sweep.
Just watched the last episode (the 7th)

Whole series is fucking awesome, Pretty much up there with Band of Brothers.

That's a hefty claim. I might look into this.

Generation Kill is by the same person/people as The Wire isn't it? Another reportedly great TV show that I havent got around to watching yet.

I'm watching ...

The World at War
Which is quite old but very interesting, if you want to learn more about the second world war. Mostly in black and white due to the heavy use of archive footage, but it does show plenty of the harshness of war.

I really like this series. Rather than its age (made in 1973) detracting from it like most documentaries, it adds to it because the interviewees are still young enough to be relatively abundant and clearly remember what happened. It's also very comprehensive, although I expect some bits have been proved inaccurate in the 35 years since it was made.

I wouldn't say it's as good as BoB, but I suspect that's because of the conflict being less epic, and it's set in a fairly short period.

But it's still very good, close second. *sets about downloading it in silly HD*

<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chuck_(TV_ ... ">Chuck</a>

Action Comedy about a geek that ends up with the contents of a CIA and NSA computer in his brain, and as such forced to work for both.

Quite pleasing, amusing in places, but not massively funny.

Hmm. I thought the first few were a bit shit. It just struck me as trying too hard. I'll give it another try and see if it can win me over. Even if it manages a miraculous turn around, it will still be well short of BoB.

I think it's a lot less epic and moving than BoB, given it only covers a few weeks from the winning side of an unfair fight.

But, I did really enjoy it. so there.

I watched quite a few when it started in the States...but, as good as it was I seemed to just let it fade away...never got me excited enuff to want to see the next episode...

Spy Michael Westen gets "burned" by the U.S. Government and all his assets are frozen. Using his spy knowledge, he gets by doing odd jobs and finding out who burned him, and why. Awesome show so far, it's got some detective work, some action, and a dose of MacGyver. Also, motherfucking Bruce Campbell.
Just watched the first series and found it rather fun, Sharon Gless was super-annoying in the pilot but I really like her as a character post-haircut. Liked the Cagney and Lacey reference and the "what happened to your accent?" line.

The second series seems more of the same, with dodgier accents (lol British), more excuses not to actually leave Miami and some actors from other SF/Fantasy shows popping up.

Still no sign of it appearing offically here, which is a bit odd, perhaps BBC see it as competition for Spooks, but it's a lot more comedy than spy drama. Perhaps the "how to make bombs" etc bits are putting people off picking it up.

just watched the current episode here...said 3 weeks before the next one...which might be 1 or 2 weeks now...didn't see previews...but, I'm thinking they need to step up and get the whole "Burn" plot going to get it more noticed as these side stories are kinda fun, but meh?

Yeah, Season 2 is kinda butchered. 7 episodes weekly, 3 weeks for the 8th and the the last 8 in 2009.

Spooks: Code 9

As a big fan of the original series I thought this was going be more of the same. Set in a post-nuclear-attack England it sounds liked the story could be something special too.

How wrong I was.

When watching I feel like I've somehow started to watch CBBC by mistake. The acting is piss poor. The story is worse than piss poor. The characters are weak, they have potential but they don't explore any of it. The only way you could possibly enjoy this show would be to suspend your disbelief that the country's security has been handed over to a bunch of teenagers. These 'agents' couldn't even spell Intelligence, let alone work for such an agency.

Why they have tainted the Spooks brand with such utter rubbish God* only knows.

PS: Berk did you even watch this show?

And see the words I posted, If I can only muster an OK, that usually means it's physically watchable, I don't have to turn it off due to terrible dubbing etc.

I watched a couple more eps and can't be bothered now. It's pretty Spooks:Torchwood, but without the sexy faaabulous merkin to keep me interesting.

The Mentalist

Mix CSI with a magical 8-ball and this is what you get. I think it's worth watching though.
