Last nights event was great fun, very geeky (two devs who are married in real life re-affirming their vows) but fun nonetheless.

Lofty (that's me); resplendent in his wedding outfit:

The queue to get in was quite long, and this was 90 minutes before it started:

Then, it got a bit longer:

However, after buggering off to another instance of Atlas Park, I got in within 5 minutes (it's worth noting that, if it looks a bit empty, each ceremony was limited to 100 characters, both heroes and villains):

Image

The party was going well. Positron (the lead designer) was master of ceremonies and kept us all in line (he threatened to kick me for getting too close when I took this shot).

The happy couple:

Then, Lord Recluse turned up and the previous cease-fire between heroes and villains was ruined:

Image

Needless to say, the heroes were victorious and I popped back to Atlas Park where I ran into one of the NC Soft team:

Image

We had a nice chat (she's a z0mg! real gurl) and I made a quick request to have my custom title changed. So, here it is, just for you Roman :)

Image

All-in-all, it was a fun night. Loads of the NC Soft team were there and they were very friendly. I chatted to quite a few of them and, despite no doubt being hammered with /tells all night, never once said a bad word about anyone, or anything.

CoH, I love you.

Player controlled Heroes and Villians in the same place?

How does that work?

There's some areas that allow it, so everyone can work together on stuff.

That event was held on the test server, so I suspect there was more than a little fucking about done to get it to work

That has piqued my interest somewhat. I assume Heroes dont like the Villains very much, and can pwn them?

There are PVP areas, where you can do such things. yes.

I've never really tried it, but apparently it's fun.

Pfft, it's good to see you were thinking of me on Valentine's Day.

I would have been there myself, but alas I was visiting a lady :)

I'm actually rather impressed by the sunset. I've never seen it before in CoH, but I'm pleased that they pay so much attention to detail that you can actually stand and watch the sun go down (or in my case up). Roman's pictures above show how the sun gradually rises above the water and casts its reflections on the bay. I stood for a few minutes watching.

I'm hoping (but not expecting) that COH will run on Dogger's laptop for which I am exchanging for beer tokens. If not, then I plan to half fill it with Monkey Island, Lemmings, Keen IV and stuff like that.
