Grimmie is still sitting on the shaft entrance (pfft) with legs hanging over the edge, playing with his laser sight by drawing things on the wall with it. He turns to Spindle Winston after a few minutes of silence.
Grimmie wrote:Think you could head back up this tunnel and ask a couple local residents if they've seen or heard anything about the kids coming out of here? Knock on a few doors, y'know?

I'm gonna stay here and pull the cat back up if he gets into trouble.
Grimmie radios back in to Dirk.
Grimmie to Dirk wrote:Status update please, what's going on down there. Seen any other ops at all?
Pants, is there like a 'local frequency' for ops, one that I can talk over to see if anyone else is pissing around in the drainage pipes like us?

There's a general broadcast that should be used by Shivers and Ops for calling for backup and things, sort of like an emergency channel. Discipline's not that great on it though.

I'm just following up on reports of children moving through the drainage system between markers H33 and H38. If anybody has any information on their source or general sightings it would be very much appreciated.

Over.
Grimmie smiles to himself, childish amusement over being able to sign off like that.
He goes back to playing with his laser pointer.

Actually, I've just had a couple thoughts.

deej heads back up to the surface he found a minute ago and does the usual detect/tracking bidness.

Detect: 6,5 + 3 = 14
Tracking: 6,2 + 7 = 15
Hey Dirk, how big was all your furniture? Wouldn't it have been hard to get down a ladder like we did to get over here?

Just had a flash of inspiration though. Wonder if my hub can pick up signals from the tracking bugs that were stolen? I'll give it a try now...

DP, without giving too much away, this is more than just a simple robbery, yes?

Now why would I tell you that? It isn't just about chasing down Roman's microwave though if that's what you were asking.

Up on the surface you can see signs that this manhole has been used recently, but there's no sign of anything large being carried through it.

To Grimmie:
Radio wrote:Five Punk this is squad Sugar Rush checking markers H29 to H32. No sign of any ankle biters here, all quiet.
Radio wrote:All callsigns this is Leyton Lines Shiver Control, please keep this frequency clear for emergencies
Radio wrote:I gotta make a whoopsie, does that count?
To Roman:
You don't pick any bugs up, although they'd have been turned off anyway. Unless you use them to track whereabouts your lucky underpants are in the drawer.

Well aside from waiting for the criminals to strike again I am out of ideas. What time is it now and around what time Dirk's place originally broken into?

and no I really didn't expect an answer to that question. it was more rhetorical in nature.
Dirk, you should put a call in to your Shivers and see if they've done anything at all. I'm thinking about staking out this place to see if I can see who they are.

It's only about 6 hours after the break in, which was about 10pm.

Anyway, what's the plan of action? Continue to follow these tunnels, explore the part of Downtown we're in, or fall back and wait to see if the cameras pick anything up next time?

There's nothing to follow at this point and arbitrarily exploring the sewers of Downtown is not what I had in mind. Unless someone has a better idea, I think we should probably just wait for something to come up on the cameras. We could crash on the floor of your place or just stay down here if need be.

Roman; you're right about the Shivers. "We'll get a forensics team down to your apartment as soon as we have one available. In the meantime try not to disturb any evidence."

Deject speak for everyone else by loitering about until you pick something up on camera or the Shivers get their arses in gear? Or does someone have something they'd like to do before we hit the fast forward button?

I have nothing. I'll stay on the Downtown side of the sewer area unless someone has a better idea or until 6 hours passes.

I'll make a Hide roll.

Hide: 1,8 + 3 = 12

I guess I'll also clear out, cameras in tunnels ain't too handy if you have a bepainted Grimmie sitting at the top of them.
I'll uh.. Get a coffee or something, I suppose.

Dirk wrote:Right, well since my apartment is currently bare I'm going to try and hunt down my furniture. There's a good chance it's already been passed on to a pawnbroker or someone.

I'm going to head back to mine, try and get the door lock sorted, then hit all the local pawn shops - I'm guessing that anyone stealing a sofa won't have been able to carry it far. Anyone care to join me?

For the locks the locksmith quotes you 1c, but it's a shit lock. However, he can put that on in ten minutes then come back tomorrow and fit up to a class 5 lock (-5 to pick rolls). Off the top of my head;

Class 0 - 1c
Class 1 - 3c
Class 2 - 14c
Class 3 - 36c
Class 4 - 82c
Class 5 - 174c

The prices vetween lock types are regulated to keep competition going and stop everyone using electronic locks, so both cost the same.

Heading for pawn shops; you might not have used them yourself but there;s quite a market for them in Suburbia. On the main drag for your sector, where you shop for bog roll, cheese, and whatever else you need, there are three, and all are within half a mile of your apartment.

EDIT: The lock on your weapon cabinet wasn't damaged when it was picked. Both were class 2.
