I'm working out the tactical weakpoints of bacon, I'm no good in an interview - someone with intimidate might go well for a good cop/bad cop scenario.

I've got an intimidate of 6, so I might as well be the bad cop.

I have a decent intimidate score, I'll go in.

I can be there, though I have no persuasive skills.

As this is the first interview we don't need to go full on good/bad cop. In fact if you just want to sit there glowering that would work wonderfully - more so if you can mention at some point being pissed off at being dragged all the way over to this planet.
Dirk wrote:Ok then Mr. Shelton, this is really just a work informal chat so I can get to know about you and the other people who work here.

You know the reason for our presence - DarkNight in the area. We have some rudimentary intelligence on their whereabouts, some sort or well hidden secure base out in the jungle. I'm not so worried about the DN threat myself, but then again we are a seasoned squad who have encountered them several times. From this point on there are to be no unauthorised trips out of the facility without our say so. It's going to be difficult enough confronting them in this environment anyway, but I'd rather not have to deal with a hostage situation. And I'm sure you'd rather keep your finger nails!

Anyway, as I mentioned before I'm sceptical that DN could have established a foothold here without some sort of help from the colony. Is there anyone here you would suspect of assisting them?
I'm going to do a Persuasion roll, not because I want an answer but because I wanted the story to sound convincing:

Shelton wrote:Someone here? Oh my. Well I really think all my staff are loyal. Nobody leaves here without express authorisation anyway, and never alone, so I really can't see how anyone here could be helping terrorists...
However, I'm not an Operative investigator, so I'll help you with any information I can. I've noticed that Mathis, the chief maintenance engineer, has been acting oddly lately. He used to be quite upbeat, but recently he's become more reculsive. He's not mixing well with the others. I've also noticed Webster, the bio behaviour coder, has been acting oddly lately too. She's been irritable. Both cases might just be down to the fact our mission is nearing its end, and that the air quality is so poor. I don't know, I'm an administrator, not a psychologist.

We do have to make it look real though.
Brainrot wrote:No doubt you have faith in your staff, but as far as I know DN stations don't grow on trees or use cloaking to deploy themselves. It's either very sloppy work or a DN agent in the staff - although either way I know at least one person who'd just torch the place for being forced onto a foldship.

Anyway, it could be anyone, even you. Imagine, someone in your position, you can just let yourself out when you want and as a station administrator over an off-world lab, you're valuable.

But I'm not jumping to conclusions here, please, carry on.
Also, this all in general conversation voice, not intimidatingly.

Shelton wrote:Me? Oh, I can't leave at all, let alone on a whim. Only bio-technical staff are allowed out - they're the only ones who know what they're looking for. Orbit thinks I'd do more harm than good I expect.

Shelton wrote:Erm, I'll send in Cross. He's the head bio-engineer.
Shelton heads off, and a few minutes later a stern looking grey haired man enters the room, dressed in a Karma engineer's lab coat. If you knew who he was, he'd remind you of Christopher Lee.
Cross wrote:Good morning gentlemen. My name is Adolph Cross, head biogenetic engineer. I expect Shelton has already told you that. How may I assist you?
He looks Eraser up and down with the air of a mechanic weighing up a car. Also, blame his name on a random name generator.

Bastard didn't even brief us of the guy, did he now?
Brainrot wrote:Hrm. Formality is not my thing.

Casanova over there is Dirk, squad leader, he'd be conducting this interview but someone seems to have fiddled with his off switch. I'm Brainrot and please stop staring at the stormer.*

Let me put this bluntly to you. What you might know is that the company sent us to deal with a DN station out there which magically popped out of the sky. What you might not is that it's most likely because one of you morons in these labs work for them. We're here to clean this mess up. In both stations.

You must understand we're not singling anyone out, you're just as much of a suspect as anyone else. Have you noticed anyone behaving differently since the initial deployment?

And did you notice anyone bringing bacon in here? WHERE'S MY BACON?

Get used to the interviews - they were plenty and a bit more dynamic on skype, but often descended into gigglefits for minutes at a time
Might get a bit of sense out of typed interviews.

Without dialogue there's not much more than combat, and that's no fun.
Cross, to Eraser wrote:How old are you, Eraser?
And while we're waiting on TSD,
Cross, to Brainrot wrote:It takes time to grow bacon. Maybe you could magic some up with your Ebb. Now if you'd like me to assist you I suggest you be a little more civil. Shelton might be intimidated by your guns, but I'm not. I also happen to be a higher SCL than you are, Mr Brainrot.
As it happens, people have been acting differently since deployment. But since we've been locked up in here for the best part of nine months then that's entirely expected, and these poor conditions don't help. However, if you want to interview the most likely insider, and I'm not speculating that he is, you might try Chief Mathis. He's usually quite consciencious, but lately he's had a downturn in attitude and his work has suffered for it. You have him to thank for the terrible air quality.

Cross, to Eraser wrote:Hmm. And were you cultured on Mort, or were you shipped in from Artery?
That's up to you. Most Stormers are grown on Artery, a huge Karma factory world, but then most Stormers are shipped straight off to war worlds.
Cross wrote:People get irritable when stuck in such close proximity for long periods of time. Others grow eccentric. Almost all the staff have displayed both these characteristics at one time or another. Mathis has been unusually introvert recently though.
