That looks pretty, but why does everything have to be so apocalyptic these days? Why can't Gojira just show up in New York and party for a bit, eat the Empire State Building, then get taken out by cruise missiles? You could still fit a decent film into that space of time and not have to come up with some deus ex machina as to why he's unaffected by nuclear weapons.

That's what the 1997 film did and it wasn't very well received, this one is apparently trying to stay closer to the source material.

That Godzilla trailer is excellent, hope the final film lives up to it.
Here's an interesting documentary for Dune fans, about an ambitious adaptation that never was.

Dune eh? What a farce of a film! hah!
I actually quite like David Lynch's Dune. Don't tell Joose.

Me too. I saw it as a kid and enjoyed the spectacle then read the book and pictured the scenes from the film.

Actually, to be honest, I also quite enjoy the spectacle of the film. What annoys me is that the story is incoherent gibberish. Don't get me wrong, I normally quite like Lynches incoherent gibberish, but if it had been given to a director who was both skilled *and* broadly sane (instead of just the former) then Dune could easily have been the Game of Thrones of science fiction. Instead its silly nonsense with comedy fat villains and a giant space mole-slug that vomits light for some reason.

I'm just happy that there's is a film of Dune. You can see it's heavily flawed if you read the book, but I thoroughly enjoy watching the film each time I do.
That mini-series from a few years ago was a snoozefest.

The casting for Lynch's film was absolutely spot on in my opinion. Hated the mini-series - the way they turned Paul into a whiny, slacker brat sets me off on a rant about modern day protagonists that I'm too tired to get into now

I do like Sting as Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen. Comes across as a really dangerous, sadistic bastard.

But how was he in the film?

I think recent events in South Africa have proven that Oscars and court rooms don't mix.

I thought I'd already posted the teaser, but can't find it. How many people here know who Frank Sidebottom is? This looks about as mad as he was, if not more.

I know of Frank Sidebottom. He was in some TV show, possibly for kids, but I don't think it was what he was known for. I don't know where he sprang from.

I just watched a bit of his Magical Timperley Tour video.
I guess I saw him on the kids programme, No 73 when I was young. Perhaps he did Live and Kicking or one of those Saturday morning shows as well, but that's not mentioned on Wiki. An interesting character, but this film doesn't seem to have much to do with the reality.
