First episode of the new season of Archer was brilliant - several laugh out loud moments.
I'd forgotten about the current season of Castle. I think I'd avoided because I assumed it would go down hill after
Spoiler:
Castle and Beckett got together
, but it's actually been really good. There have been some excellent episodes, including another sci-fi themed one featuring several Firefly nods.
The most recent, and I believe last, season of Fringe has felt a bit lacking in something. Not sure what, but I just don't feel as involved with it anymore. I think a lot of this may be down to the last season where the time line was re-set and it felt like a lot of the history and character relations disappeared. I believe this season only runs for 13 episodes, and I've just got to watch the last 3 to get up to date so we'll see if the send off redeems it.
Charlie Brooker's Weekly Wipe has started up again (first episode on Iplayer now). Good but a bit weird having other people in the studio.
Also his Black Mirror series starts up again 11th Feb. Saw a trailer for it at the cinema today and genuinely thought it was for some sort of phone commercial at first
I watched the first episode, it was pretty good. I'm cautiously optimistic about it, but I can see how they might ruin the show. I hope they add in more tradecraft stuff, which I am pretty sure they will. Definitely worth keeping track of though. Who doesn't love Cold War spy drama?
Have we mentioned Bluestone 42 here yet? Funniest British sitcom I've seen in a long, long time. For those who haven't seen it, it's about a bomb disposal unit in Afghanistan and their antics in the field and back at the forward operating base. It gets the horses sense of humour spot on, and so while it might be a bit too crass for some it will probably be right up most 5punkers' alley.
Reminded me of another horses sitcom I caught a bit of awhile ago, thankfully YouTube comments were on hand to tell me it was Gary Tank Commander. Did anyone see that? The few episodes I saw were rather good, although I don't recall any of the plots now.
Also I thought that girl/guy on the left of the video thumbnail was a child. For a moment I thought it was going to be CBeebies Does Afghanistan.
Getting real tired of your shit, The Mentalist. Another season finale with no revelation of who Red John is. I stopped watching this ages and only saw the last few episodes to try and get up to date - not worth it.
I'm up to the end of season 4 now, and god damn is this a bloody good show. Great writing, great acting, and real edge of the seat stuff at times.
How I Met Your Mother
Fuck off, fuck off, fuck off you tedious and boring piece of shit. I used to really like this when it first started, but 90,000 series later and it's just the same old shit over and over again. Given that he's supposed to be the "main character", Ted Moseby really is an unlikable, insipid fuck face.

Alas season 4 seems to have gone downhill a bit. It's still great, but nowhere near its giddy heights of the first 2 seasons.
Justified
Only up to season 3 of this, but hot damn it's bad ass. The acting and characters are thoroughly enjoyable (Boyd Crowder, sort of the bad guy, sort of a likable dude), and Timothy Olyphant is definitely on my man crush list. Talking of...
Castle
Surprisingly still good. I've said it before, but this show will never set the world on fire however it is just down to basics good fun. Lots of nice references in there to other TV shows too (especially Firefly).
Supernatural
Disappointingly this is another that's gone a bit downhill. I don't even know what the last series was supposed to be about - just seemed to flounder about like a bi-polar fish on land.
The Wire
Why has it taken me so long to watch this? I know this is a habit of mine, only getting into things years after they were relevant, but I think I deliberately avoided this just in case it wasn't as good as everyone said it was. Well, it is that good. Only up to season 4, but it's been 100% quality every second I've watched so far.
Game of Thrones
There's always been a lot of blood, violence, and death since this started, but as series 3 progresses I'm convinced the majority of deaths will be caused by boredom. Jesus, it's gone so fucking dull.
