Re: Pete's third shadowrun adventure:Welcome to Fortune
Recap? Ok then!
You jumped a lift with gun runners out to a frontier town to help the runners defend the town from a seemingly two-pronged siege.
Prong one was the occasional attempt to swarm the place with bots. Not overly successful, Inress5 jumped in, had a fight with the controller and dumped them, crashing all the drones well outside the town. Except possibly successful enough to shoot down your flyer as it attempted to land.
Prong two, gribbly monsters. Vat grown, gene enhanced slabs of grotesque muscle, running on fumes and highly volatile, the whole package is finished off with the brain of an innocent child trapped inside. They haven't breached the defences, but they don't look to have tried too hard. So maybe there's a different plan for the beasts.
You've tracked the monsters with a mixture of GPS embedded in your contacts skull and a watcher spirit, you've followed them into the mountains. Jasper's expert tracking skills found a way in when he fell down a hole in a blizzard.
Your way back is currently mangled pieces of metal in a smoking crater, drones bombed them into itty bits.
Currently you are moving forward to a lift along an open platform/corridor contrivance that looks down into a huge cavern/warehouse hewn from the rock. A maze of iso containers, piles of dead mutants and factory assembly lines pouring more crudely augmented beasts into more containers. Ingress5 has successfully subverted the surveillance so the only thing you need to worry about is escaped gribblies. Your aim is to use the lift to drop a floor because Aysun's signal seems to be strongest in that direction. Something isn't right with the facility, you've torched an entire wing of the beasts, alarms have alarmed (but only the flashy lights) and nothing has even attempted to apprehend you. Ingress5 has drones fore and aft watching for signs of untoward, they show nothing.
Alvrin reaches the lift, supported by Hernandez, following behind is Jasper, Smith and in Smith's heavy patent leather gladstone bag the garish animatronic toy that serves as mobile home to Ingress5. You all get on the lift. It's an open wire sided goods lift, heavily used and very robust. It has an open/close button and up and down buttons, no luxurious pressing a button for your desired floor in this lift.

I'll wait for everyone to pile in to the lift and hit the down button.

Everyone is in, Alvrin presses the button and the mesh sides close like a jaw. With the stink of ozone and an alarming hum of electricity the lift lurches into a juddering descent. After what seems like hours it's slow progress is complete and it grinds to a halt at the floor below. The steel jaws shudders open, the corridor/walkway looks the same as the one you left. Aysun's signal is stronger and the locator points toward another identical doorway leading back into the rock face.

I guess we're opening the door. I'll continue leading.

You think? Do you want him to follow Alvrin or not?
Is everyone else just going to stay in the lift? I'll happily auto-pilot Smith because Roman is being dry-boned by BT but if no-one except Deject can be bothered any more then I'll kill it properly and look at something else.

Re: Pete's third shadowrun adventure:Welcome to Fortune
Sorry Pete, I've completely lost track of what's going on and I've completely forgotten how to play Jasper. I was just going to hang in there until something happened which prompted me to do all the reading again.
Re: Pete's third shadowrun adventure:Welcome to Fortune
Sorry mate, thought I had posted already. Hernandez will bring up the rear and cover our collective arses.

Don't kill it! I can really only post when I have the luxury of a long toilet break at work (not that often), or when my mobile gets a decent signal at home (rarely). Internet should be back next week but feel free to auto till then.
Oh god I'm missing frigames right now (or defacto Friday as it is today).
PS your all faaabulous

Ok, the door slides open as Alvrin presses the soft button on the console. As it slides back you see.....
NOTHING! WTF!
It's another empty corridor, this one however isn't long and with lots of cells for science things on either side. It has two doors either side a few metres along and ahead of you it slopes down. Both the doors are also closed.

I'll try the door that is closest to Aysun's signal.

Man, if Aysun is one of these monsters, I'm going to be so pissed. Or creeped out, because that means the rest of these things were people too. Who does shit like this??

Re: Pete's third shadowrun adventure:Welcome to Fortune
I went away, but now I'm back.
The signal is down the ramp, but I'll go with this -
The room on the left is empty of people, drones and gribblies, it's a hab room unlike the labs you saw earlier. Some bunk beds and lockers (3 bed stacks, 6 lockers) are arranged around a central table. Everything is very spartan and workmanlike, folded steel and bevelled rivets. The table is polished metal, heavily scuffed and surrounded by battered skinny metal chairs. A projector pokes out the ceiling at the table.

I'll try opening the lockers up and see if there's anything useful in them.
