Deej: You're not sure how well you've done at hiding yourself, but the doors open when you go near them.

I'll walk away from the doors then as I was just making sure they still functioned.

Actually, Dirk could reality fold in there to the receptionist's desk couldn't he? I'm thinking someone can give him some cover from the front door while he folds over to the desk to open the rear lobby door.

You know what? I think we may be overthinking this. One way to find out...

Kt'rr readies his warbastard, turns on his lights, and strides through the front doors (waiting for them to open first, obviously).

Once in (presuming I dont insta-explode-death), I shall look about for baddies/signs of baddy activity.

Detect = 2, 9 + 4 = 15

No insta-splodes. In fact, stood in the lobby, all seems quiet.

Well, alright then. I guess we should join K'trr.
I'll head on in as well. Might as well start scouting out the path to the board room. As usual, I'll be doing my best to be stealthy and all the fancy scout helmet toys on.

Sneak (4): 6, 7 + 4 = 17
Hide (4): 6, 1 + 4 = 11
Detect (4): 2, 4 + 4 = 10 lol I fail at detecting.

Wel the path to the boardroom involves either the staircase or one of the four elevators.

Staircase, as elevators are noisy and obvious.

So me first then?

Or while we're at overthinking we could ignore the stairs and climb up in the elevator shaft. :P

Anyway..
Brainrot wrote:Screw it, we're in.
I'll follow, I'm not sure though if there's point to stealth, as if K'trr wasn't obvious enough.

The staircase is what you'd expect of an emergency escape route. Fireproofed concrete, closed around a column that appears to house all the electrical and electronic cabling, and the ventilation ducting. Each floor has a solid fire door, which is discretely decorated on the outside to match the corridors around it.

Ok, I'm with it! I'm goddamn with it! I will try to talk to the hostage takers to see if I can glean any information. Hopefully a Shiver can patch me through to the boardroom.

Hello. My name is Dirk, a representative of SLA Industries. I believe you are holding several executives hostage - I would like them released. Are you willing to cooperate with me?

DarkNight Agent wrote:Good evening Mr Dirk, my name is Malcolm Saviri and I represent DarkNight. Your negotiators are aware of our demands, but if they have failed to share that information then I can provide it for you. We simply ask for the release of three social activists, political prisoners of SLA Industries. If you do a scan of the news channels you will find Channel Resistance airing biographies of these prisoners.
There seems to be some commotion among the Shivers, and Ms Kirk is determinedly storming towards you.

Actually...
We’ve got approximately half a dozen DarkNight infiltrators in the board room with the HJ execs, making some bullshit demands.
Wanting so called political prisoners released
We may have just never asked :P

Ms Kirk wrote:Who the fuck do you think you are talking to those subversives? You are not here as a negotiator, we have professionals for that. You are here to lead an assault squad into that building, where you can negotiate with them BY FUCKING SHOOTING THEM! Now get your squad into that goddamn building and clear it.

Dirk wrote:You know you look very pretty when you're flushed and angry like that.

Listen, I asked for a full brief when I got here and you didn't deliver. Our job is to resolve this situation, and I'll use whatever tools are at my disposal.

So then, we've got a job to do and you need to start pulling your weight. Patch me through to the negotiation team immediately - I will converse with them whilst I find the rest of the squad.

Y'know, she doesn't, but nice touch.
Kirk wrote:You're wearing my patience thin, Gently. I'm not patching you to a goddamn thing, and if you don't do what I tell you to right now I'm docking your SCL. The rest of your squad are in the lobby preparing their assault. I suggest you catch up to them there.
